Having Clem Burke on the drums lifts this song so much. Great stuff.

So much I didn't even realised he was playing and can't be bthered to check if he was or wSN'T. hUGH without JJ is shit and they both know it. JJ is a brillianet bassist but I'm not gonna pay a load of money to see The Strangler. They were a fucking band, ffs. no Hugh, no band

Burke was great in Blondie and for awhile as one of the Ramones. He's relying to much on his cymbols imo

I love this version. The way Hugh and his mates have rearranged this song for a 3-piece is fantastic. I'm apparently in the minority, but I don't miss the keyboards. Hugh's voice and guitar really carry the tune with a sense of urgency that the original did not have.

"Three piece? " now that rings a bell. Did you know when they first formed the Guilford Stranglers as they were originally began as a three piece band and they were manipulated by management to introduce a keyboard player, the one and only Dave Greenfield joined the band to make them a little bit different from the rest. I would say it was a good decision. 👍

@@stephenwivverP Before DG came along they had a guitarist/piano player who eventually went back to Sweden and briefly a saxophonist.

Hugh and the Bass Player are excellent but Clement Burke is playing a bit too much Cymbals and too much in general so that it's difficult to hear the rest of the song.

This performance illustrates what an integral part of the Stranglers Dave Greenfield is/was.

God with an average Bass player and a hollow echo where Daves Keys should be filling the air a great song has become an average song.

Not bad, he should get himself a keyboard player and release some music like this instead of the embarrassing dad rock he's been coming out with.
