I’ve heard he can be cranky and difficult at times, but I’ve really enjoyed watching him in recent roles where he surprised and delighted me with his versatility. He was so good playing a sleaze ball investigator in The Gentlemen. Hilariously sleazy. Worth watching just to watch him do his thing.

I think Hugh's wife has had a remarkable effect on him. He used to be quite grumpy and churlish on talk shows, but since he met her, he's become far more easygoing and he really seems to enjoy life a lot more. Good for them!

My 3 year old heard Hugh talking and came running in yelling “it’s Mr. Oompa Loompa! He was very confused not to see his favorite character. I didn’t want to crush his dreams of meeting Mr. Oompa Loompa so I told him Hugh was his cousin and that’s why they sound alike. 😂
