Crowe sang this so much better than in the movie, it's really a shame no one truly helped him for the movie

I remember that for movie so much was working against the singing in this movie.

@@themanformerlyknownascomme777 Worst idea they had was record the songs like, so actors had to sing and perform the sword fight at the same time. It couldn't have worked
@themanformerlyknownascomme7774 жыл бұрын
@@mspeter97 indeed. As someone who used to have a hobby in martial arts I can tell you that it demands far more oxygen than you could ever give without sacrificing your voice.

its far easy to sing stopped, in the movie he singing in a sword fight haha
@alexclyde64453 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they had to go through that scene about 20 times till they got it right, that’s singing the same thing 20 times in a row while having a sword fight

This is what happens when you don't deprive your actors of water let them hear the music so they don't have to guess the timing and actually give stage direction
@Aiodeus2 жыл бұрын
I know a KZbin video which said the same thing!
@masteryoda45832 жыл бұрын
They could hear the music though. During filming, there was always a live orchestra playing while they were singing.
@novawolfx2322 жыл бұрын
@@masteryoda4583 no there wasn't. The most they had was ear pieces with piano but even then that's not enough to perfectly sync timing for the entire musical set.

Or 12 hours of live takes of the same song. If you record a live performance 300 times and then pick choose and edit together all the best bits it's not live anymore.

The live singing is good
@kideo_h11 күн бұрын
My unpopular belief is that I actually think the confrontation scene was kinda cool and executed perfectly for what the movie set out to be. It's one of the few scenes that live singing mattered the other ones were Hathaway's solo and maybe the master of the house. It sold Javier's character really well and differentiated the movie's Javier from the theater's. Movie Javier brought the character to life along with emotions as an obsessive legalist who hated criminals as much as his own past life. Though his back story wasn't expanded in the movie either, at least when we really saw his struggles and emotions, we understood more of his character and motive and that he was not just a crazy tyrant.

French Version: Javert: Valjean, at last, Your sentence you will serve, Monsieur le maire, You'll wear the chain you deserve. Valjean: Before you say another word, Javert, Before you chain me up like a slave again. Listen to me! There's a favor I must do. This woman dies, leaving behind a suffering child. I have sworn to help her. In Heaven's name, three days are all I need. Then I'll return, you have my word. Then I'll return. Javert: Your words of a convict! I've hunted you across the years. Men like you do not change. You can never change. Valjean: Believe of me, what you will. There is a promise I must keep. You know nothing of my life, All I did was steal some bread. You know nothing of the world, It is not all black and white, Nothing will prevent me from doing my duty. I am warning you, Javert, I am stronger than you by far, I know what I must do, If you will stand in my way, I am warning you, Javert, If I have to kill you here. I will do what must be done, To see my duty through. Javert: Men like me can never change, Any more than men like you. No, 24601. I am who serves the law, You have no rights, You're under arrest 24601, Now your luck has turned around, Jean Valjean is lost and found, Dare you talk to me of crime, And the price you had to pay? Every man must choose his way, Every man is born in sin. You know nothing of Javert, I was born inside a cell, I was raised with scum like you, I am from the gutter too! Valjean: And this I swear by all I hold dear. Javert: You will never escape me again. Valjean: Cosette will have a father soon. Javert: Wherever you hide, so will I. Valjean: And she will know only happiness. Both: I swear to you, I will be there.

I'LL BE GODDAMNED THEY ACTUALLY CAN SING ! WHY THE F*** DIDN'T THEY SING LIKE THIS IN 2012 ? MAYBE THAT HORRIBLE MOVIE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SO HORRID !
@alexclyde64453 жыл бұрын
They had to preform live on set for the movie, that means they had to reshoot and re-sing the entire song about 20 times so the choreography and lyrics were fine, so they were extremely exhausted in the take that made the movie
@alexclyde64453 жыл бұрын
Also did you not know Hugh Jackson could sing? He’s been on Broadway and a bunch of other musical projects
@michaeljavert46353 жыл бұрын
@@alexclyde6445 That movie was HORRIBLE. If it was up to me, it would have NEVER been released until it was perfect. That movie has taken all the magic and feeling I once held for the musical right out of me. I am just glad I knew its potential and saw great musical productions, otherwise, I would have walked out on that movie and NEVER looked back at L.M. ever again.
