I bet if he wasn't Russell Crowe most people wouldn't think that he is so bad. I've actually heard many rather famous rock singers who had a worse voice. At least he can carry a tune. And he never claimed to be an Opera star - just a guy who has fun making music, so what's wrong with that? As for Les Mis - I think he did great as Javert. He might not have the typical voice of a Musical star, but he did a tremendous job at portraying the character of Javert.

I know this is a very old video but I just found and listened to Russell. All you hater's making nasty comments about his singing are simply just jealous. I thought he sounded better than other professional's I've heard sing this song. Russell Crowe is one of the most talented men on planet earth. There's nothing he can't or hasn't done. All of his movies have been excellent and everyone I know here, loves Russell Crowe as much as myself. Some people are born with God given talents and Russell is at the top of God's list. I myself had a God given talent and started playing the piano at 2 1/2 years old and I've continued to improve throughout my entire life (without any piano or music lessons). I applaud Russell for asserting his talents which has "touched" millions across the world. I love U Russell Crowe. Linda from Texas.
