Strikes me as a stupid comment, a good example of literal thinking. Of course, Beckett used his experiences in life for his writing, whether they were his relations with friends, lovers, family, neighbours; or his experiences with bosses and career failures; etc., etc. But that doesn't make the plays ABOUT any of those things.
