I’ve just bought a Truma 4E and I’m sure I’ve read in the instructions that you can block one vent off but it must be one at the bottom. I hope so as I’ve also bought a blanking plate for it 😃

Hi Huge. I actually bought my Jackery on your video. I also built a small control panel also for more control. Unfortunately you will always get some negative reviews but you won me over. So thanks mate 👍🏻

People will hate on the jackery because they don't like change. Give it a few years and those solar generators will be standard issue. It's like when ebikes came in and everyone kicked back, now they're mainstream and fully accepted.

You can buy a blanking plug for the truma, you can blank one off

Hi David, cheers for that!

Why a gas locker and internal water tanks? There's so much chassis real estate under there it's crying out for underslung LPG and water tanks. Keep maximum interior space...
@HughTube3 жыл бұрын
Hey Sam, much more handy to have the water tank inside, especially with a Luton due to the amount of space which means we don’t have to insulate the water tank and add heating pads which saps more energy during winter plus it means the water requires less energy to heat for shower etc. Yes an under slung tank could have been used but Ben thought that area would be much better used as a gas locker due to it being tricker to get to without it been a super deep storage bin that he felt he would just lose stuff in

Do you need high temperature mastic or sealant behind the outside port for the Truma - what stops water ingress?
@HughTube3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian so if the wall is smooth and not textured it comes with a rubber gasket that provides a water tight seal. If it is textured they say to use sealant.

I noticed that you have increased the pipe size from 12mm to 1/2" what was the reason for this?
@HughTube3 жыл бұрын
The 15mm pipe and fittings are in general a little cheaper but mainly it’s because it’s easier to use and setup. Nothing major but just a little personal preference

Any weight check-in recently? Think you are maybe pushing your luck. Especially if you want to be able to drive it with a couple of passengers and a crate of beer and a change of clothes in the back

Nice update. Any ideas about filling the walkthrough yet? kzbin.info/www/bejne/foinaGl8fsd4aqs. As mentioned below, my own concern is about the weight, Lutons boxes seem to have a heavier starting weight that panel vans.
@samgraham41683 жыл бұрын
Sorry to bang on, but... weight... I'm gonna say closer to 5 tonnes. That mk5 Luton is about 2250 empty. Extend the box, insulate it, fill it with wood cladding and furniture and a hundred litres of water and it's going to be so far over :( I'd love to be proved wrong because you can see how much work is going into it, and for it to be undrivable will be a crying shame.
@samgraham41683 жыл бұрын
@@fredflintstone1428 that’s exactly it. Same with panel vans. 3500 is the max weight. So many big van conversions go over it’s unreal.
@HughTube3 жыл бұрын
Hey Fred, yes so the total weight can not be over 3.5t without a reclassification and a further license requirement is needed (in the UK, not sure abroad). That is with everything so if you have two seats registered on the V5 then it’s the van fully laden with driver, passenger, full water tank, full gas, etc etc etc.
@HughTube3 жыл бұрын
Hey Sam yeah we actually plan to weigh it next week so will let you know. Ben said that if it does exceed when finished he has no issue with reclassification and getting the extended license.
