For such good special effects, you'd think they could pay a little more attention to continuity. The close-ups of the wheels are definitely not the same locomotive that crashes through the wall.
@definitelynottommywiseau30373 жыл бұрын
Scorsese's movies usually disregard continuity.

I can at least agree with the wheel arrangement being off... That thing is portrayed as a 4-6-0 from the braking angles, and a 2-4-0 / 2-2-4 in others

Can’t believe the engine didn’t sustain that much damage after crashing through a platform it shouldn’t even had the speed to go through, somehow speeding up when the brakes were on, and going *straight through a glass wall and falling onto the road.* *A n d y e t i t d i d n ‘ t s u s t a i n m u c h d a m a g e .* - Wikipedia

Apparently it's based off of a true crash that happened, they were late to their next stop and decided to speed up They were going too fast by the time they reached the station

but surely the train would have wanted to stop before the platform, yet only hit the brakes upon seeing the boy, and not the end of the tracks.

And despite the brakes being on, *the engine clearly speeds up and goes straight through the solid stone platform just to reach the glass wall.*

I continue to watch this scene but there are some goofs witht his scene one, the locomotive has two giant driving wheels but when there is the shot of the wheels braking there are six which are from the other engine at the end of the movie, two the cars in the shot from the drivers angle seem to be orient express coaches but for the rest of the scene they are more old looking.
