Anyway V makes his cane turn purple and asks who is next, in the end of each, text saying 'the legend continues' comes up. That's all the bloody palace lore.

Hey, if it helps you, V was his own being. Vergils concioussness was within the demon Urizen, while V had his memories. On multiple ocassions he got consumed by them, which showed in some cut scenes. (V seeing the angelo beings, waking Dante, talking to Trish...) Griffon shouted at him to snap out of it, if you remember. The entirety of the games story was V´s plan. 6:24 I have long since lost my understanding why this is still a phenomenon. "But Vergil's FINALLY part of the story aga-" NO. NOT ONCE since DMC 3 has he even been ABSENT. Every media that had anything to do with DMC included him sooner or later, they always found an excuse. To the point where now I feel he's oversaturated, because he's always been the exact same while other characters were allowed to evolve. It SUCKS that V had to play this role in the story. At this point I'd rather have kept him over Vergil, absolutely!
