Makes more sense when you think about world war hulk. All that actually happen in the main universe which means they decided hulk was too dangerous and sent him to another planet. On that planet hulk started a new life and even fell in love. Later on an evil dude turned the ship that they used to get rid of hulk into a nuke that ended up killing almost everyone hulk cared about. They really screwed hulk over bigtime for awile in the lore.

@Jo That’s exactly what he’s saying tho. The strongest people aren’t shredded, they have a lot of fat because they’re pretty much always bulking. Being ripped isn’t sustainable, visible, vascular muscles are temporary and only last as long as your cut. So again, characters like Kratos aren’t portrayed as incredibly shredded and ripped because if he was, he wouldn’t be as strong because he’d be in a caloric deficit.

He only came out at night, instead of beating down on criminals for the police to take in he instead kills them. The Avengers got wind of hulk's doings, all of them went out to stop him. Hulk and tony in his hulkbuster armor duke it out for a while until tony started losing the fight. As a last minute effort he called in the helios orbital strike on hulk, banner comes back looking like a whole Saturday noon BBQ. A few hours later banner is hulk again waking up to this evil science guy dr. Clive and his evil army people(by name) Who revealed they had cutted open hulk to see how his powers work in order to make a army of gamma irradiated creatures. Dr clive made the biggest mistake keeping hulk's body pieces together as they can regenerate as a whole again if they are in very close proximities of each other. Hulk breaks out of the jars and swallows the evil doctor whole as he regenerates.
