Thought it was a big corporate sell out of a show. All hype, massive disappointment. The Rock returned to corporate Dwayne seemingly burying the entire Final Boss character like it didn’t even happen. The Hogan cameo was just an awful awkward badly timed piece of forced product placement, don’t know who in WWE thought that would be a good idea. Undertakers cameo was so quick I think some of the crowd celebrity shots were longer (to which there was also too many) Yeah the matches were good but it was such a disappointing show. Only thing I really liked was Cenas promo, and even that felt like they were rushing him in and out. What a mess and a what a huge let down

I remember a podcast i was listening to out here in Japan which talked about how one of the things WWE seemed to be okay with is breaking traditions in order to make profit. It makes me wonder if the thing with this WWE-Netflix era is litearlly dropping all the plots till later, and instead assuming it's all fresh and so nothing matters for now. No long term plots, only rebooting and reinstating plots for the new people.

My theory is that this first episode was essentially just "filler", they didn't want to put anything "can't miss" on this episode because they were worried about the optics of people missing the 'can't miss' content if they were plagued with technical difficulties like the last couple of "live" events on Netflix. So they put on a show that had a lot of spectacle, but easily miss-able spectacle, just in case.

Doesn’t make sense since the first episode will always be the one seen by most people. Thus more chances to gain new fans. And honestly the numbers were never going to be anywhere near a level that would worry them about technical issues. The NFL on Netflix just 2 weeks ago did 30 million viewers with no issues. Raw averages less than 2 million viewers per episode and even the most optimistic person would be planning maybe a little over 2 million for this episode. Which is nothing to make anyone worry about technical issues. Hell the roast of Tom Brady was watched live by 2 million people. They just dropped the ball. I also think people over exaggerate how much this is going to do for WWE in terms of ratings.

Hear me out... my wife consumes wrestling passively and got hooked by the Rock/Bloodline first hour. I think it was a soft reset of sorts to ease the casual fan back in while providing a starting point for everyone. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I can see it as WWE trying to bridge the gap between the casual and hard-core. The crowd may have also contributed, since they popped big for the Rock.

Not impressed with the show: Cena’s promo was, ok. Hogan getting booed was hilarious. Rhea vs. Liv was good. But you still have the problem of no one in the division feeling like a threat to Rhea. Also barely any women’s stuff on the show at all. I would not have had Seth lose so cleanly already.

Felt weird it was kind of like a Saturday night main event. No real promos (or storylines) real weird mics cutting off the announcers and the camera work during matches kind of sucked. Didn’t even see solo kick out. Seth Rollins theme playing way too long. The random drones putting graphics in the sky for half a second. I’ve seen plenty of raw and smackdowns that were much more exciting. Who would’ve thought Jey would win? Only after Travis Scott showed up I guess.

I haven't watched WWE for a while, because I haven't had access to the shows. I've been keeping up with WrestleTalk Reviews. So I was excited to get back into it. But was that normal crowd and music audio for WWE programming now? It was so muted and made it feel flat and took me right out of it. I ended up turning it off about one hour in because it was driving me crazy. I'll tune in on Friday again, to see if it's the same I guess.

Say what you want about AEW’s lack of pomp and major stars for their Max debut, at least it felt like a sample of what you’d expect week on week, rather than cameo after cameo from people you won’t (and, in Hogan’s case, SHOULDN’T) see again next week

I agree with the rating but at the same time can't imagine giving a Raw rating of 68% that featured The Rock, Triple H, Cena, Undertaker, Hogan, Reigns, Rollins, Punk, Ripley...tables, chairs, run ins, great new camera angles and drones lighting and pyro that was incredible, the list goes on. This was a great show, a great start of a new era show, albeit one that potentially 'introduced' the WWE to a much bigger audience than ever before. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt as we all know the road to wrestlemania start on Feb 1st.

I feel like The Rock kind of hurt the show by squashing the Cody feud and doing nothing during the Tribal Chief bit either... it made a lot of good matches struggling to go over that Rock bit. The other promos were tiny that did actual story, Gable vs Penta next week, Bayley maybe coming to RAW.
