It really ddnt tho. Wcw was on for a while. It just ddnt dominate for more then a year and in 2000 went down. But even all tht said we were spoiled. We have two of the best shows in wrestling history. So even if you preferred WwF you still respected WCW and vise versa. Both on their worst day was beter thn any crap out now!

Of course what's conveniently left out of the whole story is every week Russo kept booking Hogan to job to some midcarders and Hogan played along, putting over Kidman and Mike Awesome. The whole reason this happened was because Hogan was told he was going to go over Jarrett and put over Booker T only for the match to be changed to Hogan is yet again jobbing. Hogan told Vince Russo he wanted a layout of what he would be doing the next two months, who he would be feuding with and the results of each match as he felt Russo was trying to bury him. Russo refused, Hogan pulled creative control and said he isn't putting Jarrett over until he has in writing the future plans for his character and career. This clusterfuck was the result. Hogan was justified but hey, the same 🤡's trashing him over it will be on a Stone Cold video the next day blowing Austin who refused to put anyone not bed The Rock over, including refusing to even work a match with Jarrett.

Pretty wild how Hogan got the normal count pinfall over Sting, the finger poke of doom over Nash, and this pseudo-finger poke over Jarrett. His finishes were really doing a number on the business.

Hogan is actually working here. His creative control isn’t what made the decision for the Jarrett scenario and it was planned. Russo had had hogan jobbing his entire time being there (even to Kidman, Vampiro, Horace and Mike awesome) and wanted him to Job to Jarrett too and then leave. That’s it. Nothing for you. Russo hated hogan and this would be the second time in 9 months he wrong hogan off tv. Bischoff thought hogan should win, Russo disagreed. So, they went to their boss who was the tie breaker. The boss, Brad Seagle, agreed with Bischoff, So Bischoff and Russo worked out a deal where Jarrett lays down and hogan leaves with the belt and quits. They start a long time to tournament to crown a new champion and at the end of the tournament hogan returns for a “who’s the real champ” angle. Part of the angle is Bischoff leaving with Hogan. Now after this Russo comes out, calls hogan a POS who refuses to do the job. That wasn’t suppose to happen. Hogan then filed a lawsuit (these details were available in the lawsuit, and straight from Bischoff. Hogan didn’t mind jobbing to jarret but he wasn’t gonna be written off tv again without it leading to something. All the time Russo had put him off tv already (4 of the last 9 months) plus now wants to put him off again indefinitely violated hogans contract in itself

“I think we’re deviating from the script”. I’ll never forget watching that episode. I knew WCW was down the drain (to say the least), but this was indescribably pitiful. WCW going down was one of the worst things that happened, because the Monday night wars kept each organization on their toes. I miss the days when they were both vying for number one ratings. I still watched wrestling up until 2009. I started disliking it in 2007, but I held on until 2009 when I just couldn’t take it anymore
