they liked him so much he was forced to go face in the 03 survivor series. bro was going crazy with feuds with the likes of angle, eddie, taker and eventually lesnar n got a shot at the big gold all in one year under his new thuganomics gimmick that saved his wrestling life. @RobertSmith-ow5kf Cena sold the most merchandise for nearly a decade. He was beloved by the children, they looked up to him. He not only was the character on screen but also lived that in real life. He was the most consistent wrestler during his time, attending every shows, has the record make a wish, does charity everywhere, has a slogan never give up which has inspired many people. @@rjuniverse7289 He was also the only guy selling merchandise lol. He had a new shirt every show, of course he sold the most. I am not disputing whether kids looked up to him or if he is a good person. But for me, shaking up is not enough. You have to perform. He was bad at wrestling. He just was. His gimmick was also stale. He got boo’d out of nearly every arena. He was also the only superstar getting pushed. Nobody grew under his watch. Look at the 90’s and early 200’s. @mrrobluxo2369 No other stars were created??Batista, Orton, Edge, Jeff Hardy, RVD, Rey Mysterio and so many other stars were there along with the likes of The Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels while Cena was till 2010 and after 2010 there were still Orton, then Punk, Bryan, The Miz, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, The returning Brock, then The Shield group that was coming, The Wyatt Family,KO, later part Aj Styles, Nakamura, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Austin Theory, Solo Sikoa. Cena lost the championship 16 times, meaning he put the others over atleats 16 times during his run. And he didn't have a long range like Roman, grabbing the opportunity of other wrestlers to be achamp being a prat timer.Roman is a better wrestler😂Who was the star he created?? Everyone of them became on their own. Almost every single star that was created in the early 2010s like Sheamus, Ziggler, Del Rio, Rusev, Wade Barret, Daniel Bryan was buried to make Roman over while he became face. Not a single loss for about 3 years, and he was a part-time champ. Cena never had a part-time run as a champ when he could easily have.

John Cenas legacy is being a heroic figure that could reach massive heights without turning heel to “be cool” or change who he is (ever since he started the never give up thing) this is why he is a role model and I feel a heel turn not happening was actually best as it showed people you don’t have to turn bad to stay good.

John Cena's character got hella boring during the late 2000s & early 2010s, it was like watching the same thing over over again for nearly 5 years & more, much of the WWE universe was rejecting it with he getting negative reactions even as Superman babyface. Hogan almost went through this around early 90s, he decided to freshen it up with the probably the greatest heel run ever with Hollywood Hogan after having the greatest babyface run up to that point in wrestling. Cena absolutely needed to freshen up his character & gimmick. Heel turn around early 2010s would have been ideal.

That is not the reason. The reason is that Vince predicted that Cena would not get the same type of reaction as Hogan did. He would be cheered for like Austin was. When Hogan turned heel people wanted to kill him. Look at the trash being thrown into the ring, that says it all. When Austin turned heel and everytime he would come out to the ring people cheered for him. A bad guy being cheered for is the exact opposite of what you want. Cena would probably get an even bigger reaction than Austin. Vince is amongst the only ones in the world that experienced first hand what type of impact that kind of turn will have on the industry. He was on both sides of the events (the losing side and the winning side) that happened during the biggest heel turns in the business. Hogan being in WCW going head to head with the WWF at the time. And Austin being in the WWF and Vince being the sole owner of almost all of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world back then. No one can tell what kind of impact Cena's heel turn will have on the business better than Vince can. He experienced it, he knows.
