Hulk Hogan, Koko B Ware, Paul Orndorff and The Honky Tonk Man got together to shill an unlicensed NES game named the "Maxivision". The Maxivision was supposed to contain 30 games in 1 cartridge, however it was released with only 15. The game creators didn't get Nintendo's permission to publish the game, and the owner (Richard Frick) ended up getting sued.
Hulk Hogan and pals promoted the Maxivision cartridge through an infomercial. The infomercial featured the WGF (World Gaming Federation) hosting a competition to see which wrestler had the best clan. This video covers the infomercial and general details about the Maxivision cartridge.

Ordered it! It showed up 6 weeks later, with 15 games. We paid the first 49 dollar installment and then my dad refused to pay more... They called about 6 times asking for the money or the cartridge.. my dad said, you're not getting either! Take me to court! And they never called back! 😆

By showing this footage we are now doomed to hear Hogan claim he developed games with Nintendo. “There was this guy I’d met while wrestling in Japan: Shigeru Miyamoto. NES still had games releasing up until 1992 when Little Samson was the last officially licensed game to be released for the console. Copies of that game go for anywhere from $2k-$6k depending on condition and completion. In fact most NES games released from 1990-1992 go for decent money, because most people had moved on to the SNES and Genesis.

Some of the games on "Action 52" were so broken that they were unplayable. This might have extremely subpar games but at least they "play". I think it's level 4 in "Cheetahmen" on "Action 52" where it's impossible to complete the level because it's programmed so badly.

I wish the Hulkster spruiked every video game in existence, can you imagine all the rundowns of well know games? "Get ready for the intense action of Sim City brother! It's up to you to build a city for all your Simamaniacs to live in! Build bodacious buildings, radical roads and gnarly nuclear plants!"

Imagine scrolling through the TV channels in 1992 and finding THIS on at like 2:30 in the morning. It makes you wonder how many drugs were done with this production - the answer is ALL of the drugs. Mainly for Hogan.

Think about it for a moment. There were a few years where if you were close enough to some guy who calls himself "Hulk Hogan". You could just say to him "I like money". And somebody would pay you for something. Also, I'm going to be honest, I don't think I could destroy an invading army of tanks. And I'm okay with that.

I was looking into unlicensed games on the NES some years back when I learned about the Maxivision cartridges. Nor did I know that people actually went so far as to make an infomercial for them, as laughable as it may seem.

4:35 I don't know if it's just the way I'm hearing it, or if it's just an unfortunate way that the audio mixes together, but to me, it sounds like Hulk is saying, "Let me tell you something Maniac Mike. I've had challenges in my Lifetime, but the NAZIVISION CHALLENGE is UNBELIEVABLE." I know he's saying "Maxivision" and I keep replaying it but I keep hearing that other thing instead. Haha! This might be another one of those cases like the "Brainstorm or Green Needle" audio hallucination (Seriously. Look that up on KZbin. It's cool and so weird.)

The price is a little crazy, $146 before shipping back when the Nintendo itself was $99,i think the Sega genesis was $129, a pair of Jordan 6's were $49.99 if you had small feet like me..$150 bucks is bonkers for a game back then.

I can't believe you don't need to buy a new machine to play this!!!! When I heard there's 30 games I was afraid I'd have to buy 30 NES's to play each and every game. Really impressive technological breakthrough. Especially considering the era it was made in. Its no wonder Nintendo sent the lawyers after Mr. Frick, they were jealous that they weren't able to develop such a cutting edge piece of technology. You see this type of thing all the time. Someone will create an astounding technological break through and then a larger company comes around and shuts it down out of jealousy and lack of imagination.
