That’s what making Justice League villains interesting because the writers have to find ways to have a a believable threat for them to have to team up and beat. Steppenwolf fought the Greek Gods (which included Zues and the rest) the Amozons, Atlantians, Green Laterns and humans and he just lost, judging from the movie it looked like a pretty evenly fight but he was completely pathetic against Superman who would probably lose to Zues alone so the movie wasn't consistent with the characters power levels DMJ has a point, superman is stronger then the rest but the movie didn't keep up its consistency and kinda ruined it

in theory smart Hulk should be more powerful as he combines Banner's mind and Hulk's power. But indeed, the movie doesn't provide any information about smart Hulk's power level. And as smart Hulk seems to be very chilled I don't think that he could increase his power like standard Hulk can when he gets angry. So it's possible that he has a clear upper limit.

It depends on which Hulk Steppenwolf fought. One thing the first Hulk movie got right was, the Angrier Hulk got, the Stronger he became. "Anger" not "Excitement" fuel Hulk's transformation and strength. In all subsequent movies versions, it appears Hulk's strength reached a plateau and didn't growing, which resulted in the multiple beatdowns.

“Steppenwolf” was a novel written by Herman Hesse. There’s a good film version of it, too. The character created by Jack Kirby borrowed the name, but has little to do with the original version. The Jack Kirby version doesn’t have the ridiculous horned helmet . He has a simple cap, albeit tall. And he’s not a brawler, he’s a strategist . So the film version means nothing to me. It’s so far from the source material to be meaningless. Hulk smash!:)

The crazy power level inconsistency of Josstice League really screwed up this matchup. Wonder Woman and Steppenwolf in particular were all over the place in JL, and I think they got Superman and The Spectre mixed up considering how absurdly powerful Superman suddenly was. I think I'd give a slight advantage to Steppenwolf over Hulk in one-on-one combat, but JL made this impossible to know for sure. One caveat with his ax is that the movie was rated PG-13 and chopping warrior women in half may have been too much to stay out of R territory. That is, not chopping Amazons in half doesn't necessarily mean the ax isn't powerful enough to cut through people with ease. I'm sure it could given it can create craters in the ground.

Ummmmmmm Danco you kinda downplayed the leviathan feat let me show you: In the movie it said to weight 1,200 tons but that armor keeps shifting and changes that weight every time it moves so the max weight of the beast is 12,000 tons. I hate to say it but MCU hulk, any iteration up to Endgame, is gonna lose against SteppenWolf. This is basically a Thanos situation whether anyone wants to admit it or not. SteppenWolf can take hits from Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman and recover so he can take hits from Hulk. Speed isn't even a factor here SteppenWolf is just the Superior warrior with thousands of years of experience fighting against people in Hulk's weight class and coming out on top. Unfortunately Hulk isn't really used to fighting people who are similarly as strong as him. We saw it Thanos and we even saw it with Abomination. Agree or disagree but Steppenwolf takes this one.

Thor and Silver Surfer vs Superman vs Flash would be cool in my opinion because Thor and surfer have ridiculous versatility while flash and Superman just have insane raw physical abilities.
