Just a quick observation: a nuclear warhead detonation reaches 200-300 million degrees Celsius. A neutron star generates only 1.8 million Fahreheit. Superman surviving a nuclear blast is more impressive than Thor getting a little sun-tan from a neutron star.

I don't think I'd want to see a fight to the death between these two, but it would be awesome to see them in a MMA type knock down, drag out fight, see who would tap out first. I've been a fan of the Superman story since maybe 1972, watching old TV series, but became a Marvel fan after that, with Captain America at the forefront. Thor was always that Superman type character in the background for me, but definitely on the radar. One, a God of thunder, from Nordic myth. @J C In Wonder Woman 1984 Diana was so fast she could literally laso a lightning bolt and Superman moved so fast that she was barely even moving after he threw her. There is absolutely zero chance that Odin, or Thor, could keep up with Superman. Not even Thor's lightning could hit Superman since we established Superman > Wonder Woman > Lightning Bolt in terms of speed. Superman could blitz Thor or Odin and take off their heads if he really wanted to, and there's nothing they could do to stop him. Now, we could argue that if Odin or Thor had time to prepare and knew Superman's powers and abilities then they could use their Asgardian magic to maybe setup a trap for Superman, but that's giving them an unfair edge. In just a straight up, no prep, no holds bar match Superman would blitz both of them simultaneously and kill them. Mind you, this is DCEU (Man Of Steel, Justice League, Batman V Superman, etc) vs MCU Odin/Thor. Which means it's the movieverse version and NOT the comic book version.

I think visual effects and CGI also play a big part in MCU compared to the DECU on why fans THINK superman is stronger because both thor and hulk can punch equally as hard as supes like in the comics and should be creating massive shockwaves with their punches alone like WW Doomsday and Superman not even to add the fact that thor also has mjolnir and storbreaker at his disposal so he should be striking even harder. But the MCU likes the realistic visual effect approach and make their punches look almost super soldier level and just in general baby shit. And with speed aswell Thor should be atleast as fast as wonder woman (at the very least) both in combat and flight but they make him look captain America level speed which is just disrespectful to the characters not only that in comics Thor is faster than quicksilver especially in combat speed the MCU really has nurfed both Thor and Hulks physical abilities thor and hulk should both be at least Normal kryptonian level in reaction speed both should have the same effects in combat and reaction speed like Nam ek and faora in man in steel in comics but nope MCU makes their speed look like baby shit. So in terms of CGI it can cause fans to beleive superman is stronger.

Superman is not as strong as Thor in movies, facts are facts and do the math before talking nonsense. Superman's best feat is avoiding an earthquake and it was published on a newspaper in that movie, not even shown. Getting knocked out by a nuke? Thor destroyed and entire city with a single hit in Age of Ultron and that was the weakest version of Thor not even awakened. Going near to Neutron star (extreme gravity which turns a planet into ashes) and a beam from it( Neutron stars surface is 7-10 million times hotter than the Sun's) and lifted the mass of several earth like planets while taking the blast from the Neutron star is not something superman could do, at least the movie versions. Check out the epic clash of the titans between Thor and Superman in the JLA/AVENGERS crossover. After literally beating the living hell out of each other, an exhausted Superman wins, but just barely, stating that it took nearly everything he had just to slow Thor down, and admitting that Thor is without a doubt the single toughest opponent he's ever faced. Later in the series Superman reflects on the battle, saying that, if given a choice, he would definitely NOT go out of his way to ever tangle with Thor again.

I absolutely love THOR (have not viewed the meta-heroic presentation yet), the inimitable God of thunder, but I don't believe that the horribly diluted version of him in the MCU can vanquish the Man of Steel, DCEU iteration.
