I think this was produced so it could be played on the public address system at BP, vocals on a home stereo sound like they were recorded in a phone box with 20 socks on the mic, but they used to sound ok in the ground when they played it.

I don't think you'd actually call it "produced"..."slapped down" is probably more like it. I recorded the backing track in downtime when I was working in this tiny lo-fi studio in Liverpool, then we recorded the team's vocals (in the "hallowed portals" inside behind the directors box at Boothferry Park) using a dodgy old 60s reel to reel tape recorder of my brothers...proper recording engineers said to me "you'll never get it to sync up, it'll be out of time", but hey, it seemed to work... The worst sounding record I've ever produced, but for the noblest cause :-)
