Those are top shelf axes ,well worth the $$$$$$ when I bought mine I also bought a spare handle for two reasons ,1 replacement handle in stores,2 a suppliers name and part# .In the dry climate you are in when it's winter and cold ,to keep the handle from drying out soak it in anti freeze (glycol) do not use oil it rots the wood .Glycol will not evaporate and mixes with the moister in the wood therefore not allowing it to shrink .Good for you, your body will love for that axe! PS valid reason to have a peace of hickory in the truck. Honest officer it's a handle for my Hultafors Splitting Axe in the back of the truck

Nice axe , I use spruce for kindling and peel bark off birch after splitting ,pack it in boxes for starter , place is looking good \\\

Sweden makes the best stuff. Got me a gransfors Bruk from Sweden and its the best axe I've ever had. All my survival kit is from Scandinavian countries.

I do a windmill swing with my splitter. Get a lot more power for those more stubborn logs with knots and shit. I been able to extend the life of the handle by a long time using a couple screws and tire wire to wrap the handle up near the axe head. Curious how a hickory handle fares over time. Might not need the tie wire.
