Feedback on the Arcuitor Magisterium section: - These are the judges and executioners of the Mechanicum; no heretek allowed, hence loyalists only. They're the gatekeepers of what is and is not authorized Mechanicum curriculum, so the high LD makes sense. - Machinator Array is unwieldy, which is why might consider taking both it and a Paragon Blade; at least retain the AP 2 at initiative (4) to swing before Power Fists. Also, those two extra attacks conferred are with the weapons profile. Read pg. 123, the very next sentence... - Corposant Staves are two-handed, so you are not getting an extra attack for pairing with the pistol as indicated (only from charge and/or extra toys). Bear in mind that you do get extra guns from the Machinator Array though, so you can benefit from the Firing Protocols too. - They do have Independent Character, so they can join units. The review implied that they were restricted to forming a Hunter Killer unit or running solo only, which doesn't track. In fact, I'd recommend running them with Myrmidons (or even allies) to confer Monster Hunter. You can really help fight back against Dreadnoughts and other heavies.

Eeeh your right! I’d completely missed the IC! My faction lock objection is less specifically for the specific order I just don’t see why the traitor mech don’t have mech assassins, rather than having a specific entry for traitor and loyalist ones (if the traitors do get one) it’d be simpler to remember etc by combining into one entry

Would recommend rereading the Guardian sub-type. When characters are attached, they can take reactions and it offers some nice protections. Big boosts to both the Scyllax and Tech-Priest Auxilia. Snot all you want about their cumbersome weapons, but when your opponent loses a Contemptor to a squidbilly unit's tentacle attack you'll snicker.

You’re rarely going to kill a Contemptor with Scyllax. With hitting on 6s you would need to have a squad of 20 to even get close to killing one.

@Calth Still Burns Sure, and I wouldn't take them for the express intent of hunting dreadnoughts; the army has too much good shooting to designate Scyllax for that role. They are a Guardian unit for a reason. I'm just pointing out misc. virtues of a unit that was otherwise wholesale dismissed. I'd also suggest less reliance on pushing the "math" of fights as a singular eye test. How often do units make it into combat at 100% strength?

Not a bad point really, I’d not really thought of the reactions bit to smash them in there We’ve sort of approached these with comparisons to marines in mind but maybe it’s not the best way to do it as the output/roles of the units (scyllax/techpriests as you mentioned) are so divorced from how marines operate

Great review!! Just a couple of notes. Tech priest’s servo automata are automata , so fearless. Like also the shcyllax, so no problem with low ledership 😊

Just want to point out the ursarax volkite incinerator has a melee profile of str 6 ap 2 instant death but only a single attack at int. Missed it on my first 20 read throughs as well. Love the breakdowns. Looking forward to the ape brains.

The Secutarii are also worth taking a look at. You can take a Titan detachment with just secutarii (Force Org is only one LoW or Troop) and it does not replace your allied detachment slot. The Peltasts have some interesting wargear, like providing shroud to other units and letting a joined character reroll their armour saves. The Axiarch can provide PE Infantry, Augry Scanners, and rad grenades to Myrmidons.

I think what were gonna do is a knight and titan lists rundown after the mech where well do secutarii Ye the options are immense, especially to my IW where they can provide a -1S bodyguard to my warsmith/rerolling armour saves of 1! Chris who's played IH on the channel (Ferris blob) has transitioned to using them to guard Ferris and they're just amazing at it!

Very nice summary, but I think you missed a BIG point at the myrmadons. When you, for example, overwatch with 3 myrmadons that have 6 grav guns and all of the shots more less hit the enemy unit - the charging unit gets -2 to the charge and EVERY model in the unit needs to do 6 dangerous terrain tests because of the blasts. When you are lucky, the charging models needs to dangerous terrain tests again because of piling in. Good luck surviving that.

Scyllax are Automata (i.e. not human brain) it's in the name, the description, the unit type... - Tarpit with potential for a massive wound pool for shooty or support characters. - Have rad furnaces, which can pair with an Archmagos w/ Rad grenades, making the maligned combat array actually sneaky-scary.

Rad Furnaces don’t effect the Toughness of a unit so I’m not sure what the benefit is of combining them with Rad Grenades. I don’t know if it was on camera or not but we mentioned that they were actually automata.

@Calth Still Burns That is correct, but the rad grenades on an arch-magos do, and the furnace makes your to wound roll better/easier. S7 AP 2 weapon vs T*(-1) and then the rad furnace to wound roll bonus. Synergy vs stacking. They can also take grav guns for 5pts (for every 1 in 4, so 4 max) and have relentless... making them a weirdly threatening unit to dreadnoughts. Definitely an odd unit, but I like to look for the positives.

Ye I think the hidden grav are a bonus, just expensive vs direct access in myrmadons I don’t think they’re brilliant but I will say there 8 on my painting desk atm

@Bearfoot Miniatures I think it's a strangely versatile unit, although far from perfect. Each role they fulfill can be done more efficiently elsewhere in the book, although tarpit is very debatable. They're probably best served as a bunker unit to shooty or support Arch-magos and Magos that, for whatever reason, you might not want to stick them in a) either Myrmidons or Castellax, or b) on an abeyant.

Automata does not equal Cybernetic re Cortex requirement. Automata doesn’t come with many/any downside unless you think of fearless as a downside.

Would love to have seen more unit analysis from the perspective of Orders, as that really influences your Troop choices and how you might want to utilize the ultra-utility Tech-Priest Auxilia. Hopefully, we'll see that in a "come-together" review later.

What may be best (we’ve done a bit on the orders as the focus of the previous vid) but maybe would be good to do what “builds” or armies me and Phil have really got into either as part of the gorilla brained ep or with the vehicles (whichever fits better timing wise) So we have more experience with those more specific things

On the Ursurax that volkite pistol has 1 CC attack at str 6 ap 2 instant death. So against terminators and other infantry models with 2+ it's the way to go. Obviously it isn't a game breaker but I have used 6 to some effect.

Hey mate! Ye it’s the multi armed ones. There’s a few options: Tech marine backpacks are good The small servo arms off missile launcher backs (I’ve done this on my warsmith) A green stuff pipe roller can give the mechadendrites/arms to then be topped with something like a claw!
