Perform 3 Human Flag training sessions per week with 48 hours recovery between each. Perform each of the 4 exercises on each side for 3 sets, 5-10 reps for the dynamic movements, 10-20 seconds for the static holds. Do the most challenging progressions first, then work towards the easiest at the end. 1. 45* Flag (5:17) 2. Flag Plank (7:20) 3. Kick to Flag (11:06) 4. Band Assisted (13:35)

I once saw a dude pull off a human flag at a party, it was the coolest thing ever. Guy was seriously big, like 6'4, looked like a pro body builder, but moved super graceful. He did it on a wooden support beam that was so large he couldn't get his hands all the way around it and held it for like 20 seconds. It was the first time I ever saw it done in person, and the more I learn about it the more I have come to realise I was in the presence of a calisthenics God that day. One day!!

@Troy Z nope. My feelings of affront come from your gas lighting of my experience and your supercilious denigration of my faculties of perception. Both common tactics of narcissistic trolls. I know what I saw and it motivated me to pursue calisthenic skills beyond purely lifting weight at a young age, your attempt to disavow me of that matters less than nothing to my path. You are now a zero. FOAD.

Good luck! Careful with overuse injuries, they are a bitch to heal. If you start feeling frequent pain somewhere (elbows are super common) try to reduce the amount of strain you're putting through there for a week or two. It sneaks up on you out of nowhere sometimes and can make everything annoying and painful for months. I wish I had had more patience and wisdom at some points, especially after a period without training frequently.

I know! It took me a while to build up to that but it was super helpful (I'm a climber, it's kinda necessary lol). It really is all about training your grip and scapular stability, if you don't engage that you just flail around and keep rotating, which is super annoying.

Beautifully explained. Knew a lot about what you need to do to learn it, but this video managed to show me yet quite a few more small details that are great for learning humanflag. Especially cause I never looked and thought about it like pushing with one hand, and pulling with the other. I was simply just doing it. This provides new perspective. Amazingly done.

@BlackNorbX3 жыл бұрын
Great content. This video made me want to train all possible versions of the flags. Maybe it's just me because of pole fitness, but i think this kind of moves are easier on a vertical pole. That's because the mentioned wrist balancing needs extra arm strength, while with vertical pole you can hack it out with stable wrist positions. On a pole i can do straddle flag pretty well with twisted grip and close enough for short time with cup or normal grip. When i tried it on bars, i couldn't get into the position because of my wrists (i trained almost 2 hours before the tries, but not the fatigue was the problem). Yeah, calisthenics people probably have enough wrist and forearm strength for the bar version, but people from other sports maybe don't, so i encourage everybody to try vertical and horizontal grips even just for fun.
@InfiniteEchos2 жыл бұрын
Just had the opportunity to attempt flag using horizontal bars for the first time. Much easier than vertical pole. Half-kicked into it and held it for 2 seconds. Very happy with that
