I am obsessed with all of your videos! The organization of everything is absolutely insane, which is why I love all of your videos so much. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. I always feel like I actually UNDERSTAND these processes/structure/function/treatment/physiology about the various topics, as opposed to, just memorizing the information.

Thank you for a concise and clear presentation, with excellent illustrations. There were 2 instances where the audio was wonky and you appeared to be talking over yourself. This glitch may have been on my end--not sure. Well done!

Thanks for sharing on this important topic! It's important to distinguish between "microbiota" and "microbiome." The term "microbiota" refers to the actual organisms (bacteria, fungi, etc.) that reside in our gut, mouth, skin, etc. The term "microbiome" refers to the genetics of these organisms. Fun fact: these microbiota have 100x the genes that humans do!

I'm not sure this is correct. My understanding is that the microbiome is the environment in which the microbiota live, and that our genes shape and influence the microbiome [doi: 10.1016/j.cell.2014.09.053]. But, I am a public health epidemiologist, this is not my area of expertise.

EATING NOT PROPERLY COOKED FOODS (NOT HEATED ACCORDINGLY) 6. EATING RAW FOODS MORE 7. EATING UNHYGENIC FOODS 8. EATING MORE HOTEL FOODS THAT SOME OF THE HOTELS USE 1. AZITHOMATTO 2. FOOD COLORS 3. CHINESE AND OTHER SAUSES 9. SLEEPING IMMEDIATELY AFTER EATING 10. NOT DOING PROPER EXCERCISES 11. NOT HAVING GOOD ENVIRONMENT IN YOUR HOME AROUND 1. NO PEACE AND NO HAPPINESS DEFINITELY STOPS PRODUCING MORE HCL IN YOUR STOMACH WHICH DAMAGES YOUR STOMACH LINING. 12. TAKING EXCESS SODA AND COLD BEVERAGES 13. TAKING MORE AMOUNT OF SOFTDRINKS 14. DRINKING EXCESS MILK 15. BEING IDLE 1. IF U AVOID ALL THE ABOVE 15 THINGS I HAVE LISTED, THEN EVERY HUMAN CAN HAVE A HEALTHY STOMACH WITH GOOD DIGESTIVE SYSTEM. 2. IF U AVOID ALL THE ABOVE 15 THINGS I HAVE LISTED, THEN NO NEED TO TAKE THE BELOW REMEDIES LIKE 1 . HAVING JEERA WATER 2. REGULAR VISITS TO DOCTORS 2. INTENSTINAL ISSUES : INSTENSTINAL MEANS 1. LOWER ABDOMEN THAT CONTAINS SMALL AND LARGE INTESTINES. SMALL INTESINE WHICH HELPS TO ABSORB NUTRIENTS TO ALL OVER THE BODY AND LARGE INTENSTINE HELPS TO REMOVE WASTE FROM HUMAN BODY. 2. KEEP YOUR SMALL AND LARGE INTESTINES HEALTHY. BY FOLLOWING THE BELOW LISTED THINGS 1. Take enough amount of fiber in everyday meal (note: not excess) 2. Take good amount of pre and probitotics that helps to fight bad bacteria if present in the digestive systems. 3. Take enough amount of water depending on your daily lifestyle 1. if you do more amount of physical works u can go for 4 to 5ml every day 2. if you do average amount of physical work in you dailylife style go for 3 to 4ml 3. if you are doing less amount of physical work take atleast 3ml everyday --> (note: bad routine) Note: above 3 points of drinking water should not be done immediately after eating water should be taken 20 minutes before eating or 2 hours after eating because it slows down digestion in stomach 4. Don't strain too much in toilet it may cause anal issues and rectal prolapse issues so avoid straining in toilets by taking 1. good amount of fiber food, 2. enough amount of water 3. proper excercises or yoga. 5. limit intake of foods that takes more time to digest like 1. non veg , milk, sweets 6. Avoid more intake of eating outside food, (that sometimes leads to uncooked which disturbs our gut with bad bacteria that causes food infections diseases. Note: If you follow above 5 listed things properly definitely u can have your lower abdomen very healthy. Note: 1. Remember excess of everthing is extremely dangerous. 2. Minimum of everything is also very dangerous But right intake according to our life style can keep our total abdomen health very healthy.

@6:32 it's mentioned that there are up to 1,000 species living in our gut that only belong to a few known bacterial species. Was that a mistake? I'm just trying to understand. I've heard of Species and Strains. Is the species the type and the strain a variation of the type? Also I've heard that indigenous people or those who include fermented vegetables in their diet can have up to 4,000 or so bacterial strains(?) in their gut. I'm searching for info on how to optimize gut flora. I've also heard it suggested that most disease is caused or not prevented by a person's gut flora. This issue may be the "fountain of youth" if we can restore and maintain ideal gut flora.
@paulinedelton3167
@paulinedelton3167 Жыл бұрын
The really short answer about species and strains is that a strain is a variation within a species that isn't quite different enough to warrant making a whole new species category. I always think of it (possibly erroneously) as the trim levels on a vehicle. Like a Ford Focus. Maybe the hatchback and sedan versions were two diff species, but then in each one you had these minor changes (like maybe a better engine or exterior trim colors or whatever). I had to look it up, but there was like a 2018 Ford Focus S, SE, Titanium, etc. They might all still be Ford Focus sedans, but with diff luxuries. Hopefully that's not a horrible metaphor and helps a little. *cringe*

Can damaged gut microbiome be restored?
@OswaldDigestiveClinic
@OswaldDigestiveClinic 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely it can be restored!!! One thing that may result in damage to the gut microbiome is when there's low production of butyrate-producing bacteria. Butyrate is a short chain fatty acid that fuels the gut lining, and is great for the immune system. Bacteria in the microbiome ferment food to create butyrate. You could try eating green bananas or a potato that has been cooked, then cooled. These foods have resistant starch that produces butyrate!

What to eat to promote a balanced, healthy gut? Intestinal health is directly linked to the well-being of your whole body. The gut requires a balance of bacteria, which live mostly in the large intestine and part of the small intestine. It’s important to pay attention to our gut health as it goes beyond ‘regularity’ and bloating. The digestive system is the “gateway” to other parts of the body, delivering nutrients to it. A healthy gut contains a dominance of “good” bacteria which produces butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid. These bacteria are dependent on fiber, which act as their fuel. The gut signals to the brain through nerves and hormones, which supports overall emotional and mental health. The millions of neurons in the gut is why it’s often referred to as “the second brain.” What are gut microbiota? Each person has over trillions of microbial cells in the #colon. This makes up an individual’s microbiota. These healthy microbiomes are the key to good health, and, through lifestyle and diet choices, you can promote a good balance. There are factors that throw the microbiota out of balance, such as medications and environmental stressors. For a healthy gut, it’s essential to exercise regularly, reduce stress levels, ensure adequate sleep, and eat foods that are high in fiber. The gut requires us to eat more fibers and less processed and ultra-processed foods that are typically energy-dense, high in salt, sugar, Omega-6 and saturated fatty acids with low nutritional value. Aim to consume a rich variety of fruits and vegetables, beans and whole grains, all of which are high in their own different types of fibers. A key goal to a healthy gut is diversity; eat a variety of different plants and types of fibers. Choose foods that haven’t undergone a great deal of processing so as not to starve the “good” bacteria. However, this fiber intake isn’t always easy to obtain, and the average person does not meet the recommended fiber intake, which is why food supplements are of great importance. Balance your microbiota with LeanShake Just 231 calories per serving, you can source Zinzino’s fiber blend, proteins and over 25 vitamins and minerals easily with LeanShake. LeanShake is a meal replacement that helps with weight loss , muscle gain, and balancing your microbiome, designed to stimulate and boost the “good” bacteria (and outgrow the “bad” ones). The good bacteria contribute in many important bodily functions, such as fermenting dietary fibers, producing vitamins and educating our immune system. A healthy gut is essential for a healthy body. LeanShake is high in fibers with the ZinoBiotic blend, offering more than standard options that typically only contain one or two types, which isn’t enough for our daily intake. LeanShake introduces a resistant starch blend (from corn), oat beta glucans, inulin, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and psyllium husk fibers to the whole colon to promote several bowel functions. LeanShake helps improve the bacterial population in your colon, while reducing a spike in blood sugar after meals and maintaining healthy cholesterol levels. It’s is free from soy, has a low glycemic load and the sweeteners and flavors are from natural sources. With dozens of EFSA-approved health claims, LeanShake is an effective tool for losing and maintaining weight, maintaining muscle, and re-balancing that all-important microbiome, which is a micro-ecosystem that controls so many of the functions in our body. Hence, it’s critical we take good care of it. LeanShake, no yo-yo, diet LeanShake is a delicious, nutritious meal replacement that simultaneously balances your microbiota for a healthy gut. It’s an intelligent mix of vitamins and minerals that help fuel your energy and support many of the necessary functions in your body, from head to toe. And did we tell you the flavors yet? ⭐Chocolate, ⭐Strawberry, ⭐Vanilla and ⭐Berry.
