@Baalaaxa18 күн бұрын
Indeed. Recognizing the stereotypes, and our racial, ethnic and cultural differences does not make one racist. You can discuss, joke around, and even celebrate all those things. That is not racist. What makes one racist is discriminating based on those racial or ethnic differences. Thinking that those qualities makes some people less, and other people (usually your own group) better. Thinking that some people are inherently good or bad, more or less valuable, having rights or not having the same rights because of race or ethnicity. That's racism. We're all different in many ways, but all equal. At least we all should be, having the same rights and respect before the law, and before our peers. But it ain't always so, because of piece of shit racist people do exist. No matter who you are or what color you are, your actions and your character is what counts, not your color. That is only skin deep, but we all bleed red inside.

For the record: Elvis Presley grew up in mostly black gospel churches. He grew up with close black friends and they frequented mostly black bars and clubs, playing blues and boogie-woogie numbers. Once famous, notable black musicians praised Elvis for bringing black music to light - and Evis supported various inner-city charitable foundations. Also many of the iconic 60's British rock bands grew up listening to American black artists records. Life is a shared experience, and too many people today make way too much noise.

Even if it is racist, you just have to make it funny... Comedy is all about laugh and joy. Is not about the subject of the joke or the heavyness of what you're mocking about... If you show love on the structure of the joke, if you build your joke correctly, no matter what you just said, people will think it's funny. You can rhyme, put some wordplay, some pauses. You can add some expresions, change the voice. I mean, I can, right now, say something really dark. But if I mock an old very old grandpa saying something racist, dark, and add some "That's the old days" or something like that... it will be funny. That's all you gotta do, let the publick know that you're an actor and what you're saying is not you spitting hate but you... telling a joke, as a clown, as a comedian, as... a potato. whatever you choose to play on stage. it's not serious, it's an act. @@MaddyReactions You're not black. You're mixed. Race is a spectrum. Unlike gender which is binary. Race is actually a multi-dimensional space. You cannot be 35% female and 65% male. But you CAN be 40% German, 30% Nigerian, 20% Tamil, and 10% Spanish. Somone with that mix is occupying some point in a 4 dimensional race space. So I don't know what you are. And it really doesn't matter. But I do know that you are not black. When your mom and dad had sex to create you, you ended up looking the way you do BECAUSE one of your parents is white and one of your parents is black. Maybe both your parents are black? Then one or more of your grandparents is white. But you are not black. And I suspect you KNOW you're not black. So there are two possibilities here. Choosing a title that mentions you are black gets you more views. You are insecure about the other part of your genes that are not black. I'm not saying people one race or mixed race is good or bad. I'm saying DENYING the FACT that it is clearly impossible for you to have less than 1 person in your family that is not black just makes you look fucking stupid.

I'm a tall, beardy, British goth. My ex was an exchange student, black, French British but American citizen because her Dad moved to NYC in the 90s and dragged her with. She's going home to Harlem, we're texting the waters about who may move where or if a long distanc3 relationship is going to work... Any how. She is back in her Dad's place. He doesn't want me in the house, so I'm staying with her brother and sister in law next door. I feel out of place everywhere because Im a brit. Harlem is no different to me than anywhere else except it takes longer to get a beard trim in a barber's shop. First night I'm heading back from meeting some friends who live on the other side of the river. The Taxi Driver won't drive me all the way, so Im walking the last ten blocks. It's still only 11pm or so, so there's still plenty of people. I get all the way to my gf's street until some guys hanging out call me over. I talk for maybe 10 minutes. They hear the accent, they geek out a bit, we chat we tell jokes and we part. Lovely guys. The next day and I meet my gf outside (her Dad still won't let me in their house) and we go to diner. Two guys call me out by name and I say hi. We order food and the waitress calls me by name. I figure she just overheard. Just as we are getting ready to go, one of the guys I'd spoken to the night before comes in, greets me by name and introduces me to a couble of teens he has with him, his cousins. My gf now freaks out. As we are walking back to the car she starts asking how come everyone knows me. I figured it aas just a tight community and I was a novelty. Turns out 5he guys I stopped and chatted with were notorious. People had seen us and assumed I was the worst undercover cop in history and that these guys were now sus. So they had been telling everyone ghey knew who I was and to spread the word. Word even got back to my gf's dad and he let me in the house. Admittedly it was to call me a 'white devil' and chase me around a table with a cleaver, but it was progress. I was in the states a smidge less than six months, and Harlem was the friendliest, most accepting place I stayed, despite being an alabaster white guy. Almost convinced me to move there.

@@deggsy2720 ...I didn't say that it was what he said. I said that just as an example of deadly illogic that is easy to slip into given this topic. And other people have said just that. There are a lot of people, and there are going to be even more, who overlook inherent racism in a joke both because it's funny AND because they don't want to look like dicks about it. The dick is the one telling the joke. And the ones laughing about it. Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die.

Stunning, I agree! And I am not typically even *attracted* to black women at all (relax, I'm ALSO not attracted to blonde, western European types either - my wife is another race - Chinese - and I happen to prefer Eastern European with dark hair and high cheekbones and brown eyes / Eurasian/ East Asian features - basically anywhere between eastern europe and Japan that has black hair, brown eyes, high cheekbones, and doesn't look like...how to say....the typical woman hanging out at a bus stop in chicago....., we all have a type - but in this case, yeah, beautiful girl! So, there's always exceptions!) Actually, funny thing, she reminds me a TINY bit when she smiles of the woman in Ace Venture: When Nature Calls (she was darker skinned, but something similar there faciallly - Sophie Okonedo is her name).

I love this. It’s great to get a beautiful black woman’s perspective on Bill Burrs humor, got to admit it’s edgy. As an old white man from a republican family who was born and raised in Camden NJ, I must say it’s refreshing to hear your opinion as most of my closest friends growing up were black, one was an actual Prince his father who I met was a King of a small tribe in Africa! I was so fortunate to feel a sense of ease walking through black communities day and night, I never had any serious issues on the streets while cruising with my friends. Not so sure I’d fit in these days (I look like a trump supporter) but those were some of the best days of my life! Go Kamala!

Ricky Gervais commented on the “cultural appropriation” dispute in one of his stand-up routines. He said that there was a word that black people use all the time that white people aren’t allowed to use. Well, WE came up with that word!

@@karagi101 What a goofy comment! Do you think BRITISH is a RACE? Seriously? That is as bad as all these American Marxists calling Mexican a RACE and being too stupid to realize it's a NATIONALITY AND NOT A RACE! A LOT OF MEXICANS ARE WHITE! So does that mean Mexican is a white race?
@MustardSkaven2 ай бұрын
@@karagi101 You missed his point. It's pointing out how ridiculous it is to claim a word but if you want to play that silly game, if anyone can "claim a word" it's those that invented it to begin with.
