Favourite Hartnell story...I found it gripping when I first saw it...especially when I thought The Doctor was busted calling Yetaxa, Barbara! Great 60s drama and Ian and Barbara are the best!

@ Jeremy Zu that's the way those kind of dramas were played in those days. Though this is "television", the medium was somewhat new at the time. Most of these actors came from the theatre. Even the pacing of the story is written along those lines. So the episode ends with the villain making his threat to the camera, that is, the audience at home. A similar technique was used to address the audience at the end of acts in stage plays.

Another theatre tactic. When I participated in plays, things that only the audience was supposed to hear for the plotline were 'whisper shouted', meaning that it was 'quiet' but also loud enough for the audience to hear. The film technology in this time isn't good enough to catch small whispers.

@TheSaxonViolins this was one of the first series remember, it was bound to be shit at somepoints, it was filmed and send out on the bbc in one week. and don't see the new series. the 70's are the best. if you don't have anything good to say about this video, don't say anything at all and keep your mouth shut.
