I like how the names get longer the further down you go. Like it starts with "goatman" or "bigfoot" up top, and then when you get lower the names are like "The purple, cat/horse man with a yellow foot who lives in Philadelphia, but not during the winter months because he doesn't like the cold, so he moves down to his condo in Florida from around November to March every year, and also he wears a ww2 navy sailor's hat and smokes clove cigarettes."

I’ve had a hardened military vet tell me a skin walker stories that shook them to the core. It’s one thing to hear stories of missions they’ve went on, some of which were just normal deployment missions. But when you feel the emotion and the fear coming from someone that is literally trained to kill. That’s a different kind of fear.

@@TheGoofyBro-ol3en it’s very interesting until a perfectly sane person encounters an inter dimensional being they can’t explain. I’d never wish that on anyone. It haunts you for the rest of your life and you can only relate to other people who have had the same encounters that you have. Which is very sad. No amount of therapy can heal you from something that they themselves have never experienced.

The dark watchers one took me back. I grew up in California near a landmark called Mount Diablo and I had vague memories of stories about it from the tourist center when I visited as a kid and decided to do some research on it recently. There was a story in there about the Spanish explorers believing they saw a literal giant watching them from behind it. Like they were in the valley with some guides and saw a giant shadowy thing peeking over the mountain and trying to hide. The mountain itself is an interesting geological anomaly.

This is insane that I’m just watching random KZbin icebergs at 3am and found this comment. I grew up actual minutes from Mount Diablo, it was painted on the front of my elementary school and always looming over the valley, I even always use it as a landmark to tell people where used to live assuming its as popular as San Francisco (nobody ever knows what I’m taking about). I never heard this legend which I’m honestly disappointed because I’ve always been a horror/urban legend fan. You learn something new everyday I guess

@@Gandhi_PhysiqueIt’s fine if you don’t believe it, but I think people are allowed to ponder the possibility of these experiences, especially considering most of these are folklore based and hold some significance culturally. Of course a good amount of these are fake, hearsay and hoaxes are always gonna be a thing even outside of shit like this, but to say that there aren’t any unexplainable parts of the world or strange experiences is jus being unrealistic, respectfully.

Slenderman has always been more funny than scary to me. It pulls from so many different horror tropes and trends that it’s always felt comical rather than unnerving. Probably a byproduct of growing up with horror and creepypastas.
@commodorex
@commodorex 7 ай бұрын
It's not that Slenderman pulled from those tropes, those tropes were pulled _from Slenderman._ Slenderman's premise alone established the modern concept of a Creepypasta. Hey Brazilian here. loved the video. You are right to say that the Lobisomen tale is very similar to the european werewolf, and as far as I know, it's kind of a localization of the legend, that came from Portugal when Brazil was colonized. The Varginia ET/ UFO is the most known UFO sight here and pretty much everyone have heard the story. That's because: 1- It's one of the weirdest and most complex UFO tales, sometimes even being comparad with the Rosewell Incident by people who studied ufology. 2- It's also a HUGE meme amoung general public in Brazil, specially those born between the 80's and 2000's. And of course it is, because here we make almost anything a joke and a lot of television shows made fun of the incident when it happened. But it's still a huge thing for UFOlogist's, and overall a very weird note in brazilian history.

I've always wondered if some cryptids came to be from hallucinations that are commonly associated with predatory animals in the human mind but twisted by the mind into something scarier. It wouldn't explain all cryptids but perhaps some, especially those that have been in human culture for a long time and often reports of these cryptids sometimes are not very consistent which would make sense if they were hallucinated.

One of my coaches served for a couple campaigns in Vietnam and he tells me stories of his battles all the time before and after practices. I will always remember this one story he told me where he was on night patrol by himself, he was assigned to the section of the trenches that bordered one of the forests in the area. He walked up and down the trenches for hours while momentarily watching the forest for VCs or anything else unfriendly. After multiple excruciatingly silent hours of starlit patrol, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye in the forest. He looked over and saw what looked to be a pale white figure with hair darker than the forest around it standing motionless while staring right at him. His eyes met the creature’s unblinking stare, and they both sat there for minutes that felt like an eternity. He told me that throughout his years of fighting, he has never felt fear more intense than what he felt in that moment. He had no clue what this thing was and what its intentions were but there was no doubt that the creature could have ripped him apart if it wanted to. One thing he said will always stick with him was how it slowly disappeared seemingly sliding on its feet into the darkness of the jungle, all the while staring into his eyes with an unnaturally large smile across its face. He reported his encounter with his officer, which then led to him no longer being assigned night patrol from then on during that campaign. We both have no idea if that creature was a ghost or a humanoid, but he hopes to never see it again.

the green kids was actually because they worked in a factory in another part of the country and were lost in the forest - they only ate the raw beans because they’d only been foraging for food for ages. they just spoke a mix of welsh and gibberish so that’s why they couldn’t understand them :) it’s a true story it was just something weird that got exaggerated lol
@WarDragon72345

Where did you pick that one up from? I've never heard the factory theory before, just the theory that they were descended from Flemish immigrants killed in a massacre *by* the Welsh and were malnourished like you said (which caused anemia, which in turn can explain the greenish-appearing skin). The "gibberish" was very likely just another language (Belgian Dutch, in the case of this theory). (this might look somewhat aggressive, but I am just really interested in things like this and I like to hear more about them)

A factory? It supposedly happened in like the 1200's or some shit. They were Flemish war refugees. There were a lot of battles/wars in the area at the time so lots of people escaping from whatever armies. There was also a church in the area called St. Martins church that provided assistance to war refugees. The language the kids spoke and the style of clothing they wore would not have been familiar to people in that area. People "on the run" from war can easily become malnourished, which can explain the temporarily green tinted skin.

I started to feel lightheaded so I biked home (there was no smell at my house). I live in a pretty big town, it isn't remote or anything, but that wasn't the only time I smelled it and became ill. wow im from Chile and was living on Calama back on the year 2000. (i was 6 years back then) i remember clearly what you called "Chile's Millenium Humanoids" was for us just the Chupacabras. i dont know if you will read this or if anyone elses read this i can give more inshight into that story. i remember clearly how the UFO sightings were super common back then and how i was always sleeping afraid of the chupacabras. i associated any noise i heard at night with that thing and for at least a couple of moths i was super afraid at night but the whole story had a lot of coverage on newspapers and on tv because it became a real issue. farmers always woke up with their animals dead so for a lot of people this was a real animal or unknown thing making some real problems for some people that affected their normal lives. when everything stopped i remember how my family said that the NASA came to Calama to "retrieve" this animal and that story made sense with the time it all stopped. then on the year 2012 i got a job after i finished school. started working on Calama's airport and i had a coworker that was way older than me and he was already working when all of this happened so i asked him about that thing and he told me with a lot of detail how everything happened. he said that some day some "gringos" came to the airport with some really new airplanes and a lot of equipement. he said he saw the NASA logo on some of the vehicles they brought and how just before they left they had a container on the airport with some kind of animal inside because it made noises like he was trying to escape or something. i would be lying if i said more stuff but he was really detailed in a lot of things and this is just what i can remember. for me it was a really interesting story back then because it just made me feel like it all made sense and something weird really happened back then LOL. Sorry for my broken english but it felt kinda interesting how something from the town i grew appeared on this video so i wanted to share my story haha.

The Third man movie has nothing to do with paranormal events, it's from the 40's and the term comes from a crime where witnesses see a third man on scene but can't recall where he came from or went to... it's considered a cinema classic and is really good. excellent video

Awesome vid, seriously top tier content. Criminally underrated and you will get the recognition you deserve. My only critique would be to not cut yourself off when you edit, especially cuz you deliver such good info (honestly, unlike a lot of channels out there). It isn’t banal, boring or unnecessary to listen to, and while it might seem like you’re putting together a really long video, remember all the hard work you put in and leave those sentences complete! I’m happy I found your channel in the early stages cuz I truly believe you’ll be putting out content that’s flawless before too long

35:55 the movie "The Third Man" (1949) is one of the most respected Film Noir classics, but it's not about any cryptid, or supernatural phenomena or anything; It's basically a kind of spy/mystery story, with no real, direct connection to the mythology described .

Fun fact: Bigfoot, gray aliens, reptilian aliens, Mothman, Owlman, Baba Yaga, and Goatman are featured in the trading card series Weird ‘n Wild Creatures. They are part of the “Monsters of the Mind” category (a category for mythical and paranormal creatures as well as cryptids).

Nice video overall, I enjoy this kinda stuff. Hey, just one suggestion? Maybe I'm wrong. Sometimes your voice goes so low-vocal-fry that it sorta gives away that you're ... maybe trying too hard to do that? It's not bad, but it can induce cringe. The moments where your natural, unstrained voice comes through are way more crisp, clean, and enjoyable to listen to. Or, maybe you just needed a sip of water I dunno.

Brazil isnt the only country on latinamerican that had the legend of the lobisonem, at least in argentina we call it lobizón and comes from the guarani legends with origins on paraguay. The thing is pretty much the same, the seventh child is consdierd cursed to become a werewolf when reaching 15 years old, at least here to stop it usually their godparent has to be the president of the nation.

idk who wrote the fandom paged but there are a lot of incorrect facts here. I noticed especially a lot in the sandown clown part where it seems almost to be describing something different. There were two kids, they found the clown out in the countryside after hearing it shouting ambulance siren noises in a microphone and it claimed its name was 'all colours sam' and communicated both by talking and also pointing at words in a book. TLDR if any of these in the video spark your curiosity then go check them out from better sources than fandom wiki as the story may be much different!

I actually find the detail of the creature wearing "tattered, dirty clothes that barely fit" makes it more believable. To acknowledge the obvious, if Bigfoot existed, it would be an intelligent animal. And there are a number of key behaviors that stick out in more intelligent animals. Their capacity for tendencies like affection, sentimentality, and sadism all begin to take shape. An animal in the woods who is smart enough to recognize that he needs to avoid humans to survive, but also not quite smart enough to understand what we really are, has only vague knowledge of the way we think and clues that we look for. Actively making use of camouflage is a much more complicated strategy than it seems, especially if it doesn't come from a natural, instinctual place, like the muffling feathers of an owl. This is all to say that a creature like that wouldn't understand that he makes himself more identifiable and therefore more vulnerable. But he does seem to otherwise have learned experience with humans. He knows he has to hide from them, he knows intimidation is more than enough to dissuade an attack if needed, and he knows that he can wear their clothing. That leaves three options, he stole that shirt, he found it in the trash somewhere, or he killed someone for it, and is wearing it as a trophy.
