Flying saucers, little green men, and anal probes have been a staple of our perception of aliens for as long as most of us have been alive. The reasoning behind the latter is a obvious- human scientists also can and do learn a lot about an animal by their feces- but where did the idea of short grey or green aliens actually come from in the first place?
As to little green men, the concept of green beings has been around for centuries, from Goblins to perhaps one of the most famous cases- the green children of Woolpit. For those not familiar, these were two children that seemed to have lived during the 12th century in England. When they were discovered in the fields, the little boy and the girl had green-tinged skin, wore strange clothes, spoke an unfamiliar language, and both refused to eat regular food for some time, apparently unfamiliar with it. If you’re interested in who they were, why their skin was green, and where they came from, check out our article here.
Fast-forwarding to the late 19th century, we have the first known instance of the term “little green men” being used to describe aliens, found in the Green Boy From Hurrah published in the Atlanta Constitution in 1899. In it, the story describes a short green skinned alien from- you guessed it- the planet Hurrah.
Much more famously Edgar Rice Burroughs’ early 20th century Barsoom series featured green aliens from Mars, though in this case they weren’t little at all, being about twice the height of humans....

So, I've heard that story of the couple and their missing time, but this is the first time that I've heard about the damage to their vehicle. The strange thing to me is that I had a similar experience. The main difference is that my missing time ended in the hospital. My wife and I were rear-ended on a major highway around a major city in Canada. It seems clear to me that they were rear-ended, but didn't get medical attention. It's possible that the people who rear-ended them fled the scene and just never fessed up to it. Their memory loss is due to the concussions from the accident. It is likely really that simple. Why has that never been suggested on anything I've watched before? Thanks Today I Found Out! Love your channel and I'm always recommending it to others.

The reason you didn't hear of extraterrestrials, UFOs, or abductions in the past is due to fear of ridicule. My grandparents witnessed a close encounter with a UFO and my mom was in the car with them when it happened. My mom came clean to me one day when we were talking about UFOs, but my grandparents never said a word about the event to anyone. I suspect it was due to fear of ridicule. In modern times, a lot of people just don't care if they're mocked or made fun of, so they speak their minds more often than not. Thanks to the internet and the semi-anonymity it brings, people who have witnessed stuff are much more likely to spill the beans. Humans have been seeing UFOs for all of their history, and there have been close encounters throughout history. Kind of similar to how so many are thinking that autism has become a major problem and that it didn't use to exist. The reality is that autism has been around for the entire history of humans. We have just become a lot better at diagnosing it. Same with homosexuality. There are people who genuinely think that homosexuality being "so rampant" is a "modern problem". No, throughout history homosexuals have existed, but due to real danger to them, most kept it to themselves and pretended to be straight. Society didn't magically get more homosexuals over the past few decades, they just stopped hiding who they were. Extraterrestrials have not been hanging around or abducting people more over the past century, we have just started paying more attention and speaking up about our encounters and experiences.
@hydrolito
@hydrolito Жыл бұрын
Extraterrestrials were common in the past description of things. Angels came down from heaven which is the sky, Lucifer was brought down from the sky, Asgardians were supposed to travel the cosmos on the rainbow bridge, New Jerusalem in final book of the bible is a giant cube in space, where they travel to a new heaven and new Earth. A god supposedly drove a sun chariot what we might now call a star ship.

Then how come we can't find them? Any species advanced enough to have interstellar space craft, especially for repeated visits over thousands of years, is advanced enough to have built megastructures in their own system, such as Dyson Swarms. If they have FTL travel they should have pretty much colonized the entire galaxy by now and whether they existed or not wouldn't even be a question. Have you noticed that since everyone has started carrying a camera in their pocket UFO sightings have gone down?

While in the Army, one job I had was with satellites. When launching a new one and putting it through some tests, we had people from Lockhead Martin at our site. I got to talking to this older man who had worked there a long time. He had worked on making the SR71 and it was interesting hear him talk about it. He basically talked about how advanced the plane was, that he thought he was a smart man, but some of the stuff that went into it blew his mind and had no idea how people figured these things out. Some of the stuff he saw how it worked, was explained why, but was still little confused why it did, like almost like it was made by a wizard. The plane was just so far ahead of its time and that we still don't know the limits of what it can do. Interesting man.

Whenever the military shows the public “new” tech it’s already 20-25 years old. The first F-117 stealth fighter was built and flown in the 1960s but the military didn’t show the public until the first gulf war in 1990. It explains all the “triangle shaped UFOs” people were seeing at the time. We can’t imagine what they are working on now.

He lives i believe in the US. Maybe im wrong, but brits due to the albeit not obvious but still extant similarity of brittish and american accent spectrums, do when living among yanks and the plethora of othet accents in the US, experience a gradual shift in their accents. A good example of this is Hugu Laurie who is brittish, he played the titular character in House MD. He used an affected accent for that role and in addition to the character Chase, an aussie, played by i believe an actual aussie, one of the main cameramen was also from down under. He remarked that consistently keeping a consistent accent was sometimes difficult hearing not one but two peoples regularly talk in an accent thar while different than his was miles closer to it that anyone elses including the character he was playing. I said all of that to say this, its not uncommon to find in brits living abroad particularly ones whose profession requires them to sort of modulate their accents and pronunciations, and when heard by those who live with and among the accent, or those who are very familiar with it a certain 'fake' quality to their accent. Theres a certain over lap between a brittish guy trying poorly to sound more American and an american trying sound brittish.

Even more worrying to think of is the theory that the Simon is stuck in some groundhog day like time glitch forever to sit in a tiny studio endlessly churning out interesting facts for us unknowing fools!! 17:05 Eyes are really only useful when there's sufficient light. Most stars in the universe are not like our bright yellow sun; they're normally dim and on the redder end of the spectrum. There's been quite a few speculative biologists and artists who have developed whole planetary ecosystems where the more complex life is completely dependent on things like echolocation, because sight would be nearly useless with a dim red star. Wayne D. Barlowe's Expedition is a good example of this.

EDIT: the wide attention is what I am talking about. There are earlier sources which did not capture the wider appeal until said events took place. Note how the typical alien now is "the grey". This only happened after the movie Close Encounters. That movie basically started the "modern" (post 1960s "spacemen from Uranus & Neptune" who looked like humans) abduction and alien looks we see in the delusions of abduction cases. That combined with sleep paralysis. :( For some people the hallucinations seem real enough that they believe it to be aliens. Some are out to make a buck or have 15 mins of fame. Some others are manipulated by shrinks and other hucksters who take advantage of people who won't see a medical or mental health professional. :(

. The Dollar shave club website and this KZbinr doesn't say how much it costs for regular blade shipments. He says "regular price", that they won't tell you that price and it can't be found on their website, is suspicious. Generally buying a safety blade is cheaper and more environmentally friendly too. Also It requires a little learning how to use it but once you do, it works fine and is so much cheaper. Like I got 100 blades for $10, that's 10 cents a blade. You might also buy a shaving brush and cream (you dip the brush into the cream which is is more solid like a soap and apply to your face) it's also cheaper long term and more environmentally friendly than the aerosol stuff and it seems to work better.

@firstlast-cs6eg
@firstlast-cs6eg 4 жыл бұрын
@@AFmedic Yeah, the double edged is what I use too. But I'm told the single edged last longer to compensate for their single edge, requires a slightly different way of shaving I think? Generally double is cheaper because it's more common. Double edged is not double blade, the edges are on either side. So either way your dealing with one blade edge as you shave, which allows you to deal with the contours of say a face or whatever easier. With these razor blade faces, not only are they impossible to clean out and fully dry before you need to use it again but they got this wide bed filled with many razors which means it doesn't contour well since the shaving face is so wide. Companies that sell shaving heads will advertise about flexibility in these shaving heads where the blades can move independent of one another, but that's not an issue with a single blade edge (with either type of product the blade itself won't flex much, nor do you want it to)
@AFmedic

My mummy story.. 1967 I was 5, one night I woke up in the middle of the night my room was lit up bright, standing at the end of my bed was a tiny grey creature with big black eyes. I sat up and tried to figure out what it was then it came to me it was obviously to my young mind a mummy not an ordinary mummy but a baby mummy. I jumped out of bed and yelled a mummy then ran into my parents room yelling there's a mummy in my room! When I returned to my room with my dad the lights were gone and no sign of anything.. About 12 years later a friend invited me over to watch his new t.v. network called cable t.v. he was flipping all the channels when he stopped on the sci-fi channel and said this one shows all the science fiction. To my utter surprise there was my baby mummy on the screen. Without a thought I jumped up and yelled that's my mummy! My friends laughed and said no thats a alien..

Glad you mentioned the movies that were made with big-head "gray" aliens, but you could have gone back MUCH farther. The first one I am aware of was The Man From Planet X. (1951) That one was a dead-ringer for a Budd Hopkins "gray." But the same look was used in Star Trek in the 1960s. It was an easy make-up job to do. Just make a big dome out of papier mache and stick it on the actor's head. Budd Hopkins was the writer who started people thinking that there really were big-headed aliens. The fact that all those old movies and TV shows were in the public consciousness made it an easier sell. The whole UFO thing is a 20th century myth.

I've often considered 'alien encounters' as people who have experienced an electrical shock/mental trauma - and are recounting an exaggeration of very early life memories. When we are babies, we are short-sighted and see in black and white, so that would explain 'the greys' skin tone. Eyes would be a key feature for most babies, so these will be exaggerated in importance and thus out of all proportion to other facial features in those early weeks, explaining why they appear as such a dominant feature on an alien. Often, alien hands are described as being long - hands being another feature which a baby would experience most as parents reach to pick it up, feed, clean and change it (just imagine how large they would appear from a short-sighted baby's perspective). The alien 'obsession' with the anal region is merely memory of baby regularly requiring cleaning and checking. Otherwise, why would alien beings (or their robotic representatives) be particularly interested in taking samples from the anal region of humans, or indeed any animal (since cows are also a favourite abductee?) We modern humans have much more sophisticated and less invasive means of collecting DNA samples already, and we're nowhere near guiding spaceships across the galaxy to another inhabited star system (that ability is at the least several decades away, perhaps centuries away). Anal probing seems all rather primitive for a technologically advanced species.

The problem with Simons debunk is that those who experience such experiences cannot un- experience them. One of these being a friend whose trauma and psychological damage from that experience is 100% real. Knowing how he was prior. And seeing the extremely negative effects of the resultant PTSD of remembering his very traumatic EXPERIENCE To date from my fallable memory 80 000 "varified" Meaning credible testimony from reliable witnesses or experiencers of abduction or a UFO encounter from all over the world from every creed culture & religion. Now ether all these people with little or no intercultural connection collectively despite much derision, persecution, marginalisation and often intimidation are sticking to their story. There is something actually happening that so called self professed "the intelligent" by cherry picking the narative to suit their pre conceived cognitive dissonance & bias dismiss. Or this through advanced black op tech movies and an ever increasing army of seemingly unconnected false whistle blowers are perpetrating the greatest hoax ever conceived in human history. They approach the craft and you can see figures walking around it in the dark. Then at some point they're back in their home and the aliens were trying to get in. At the end it shows a really clear shot of one of the aliens walking through the house. I know it's fake now, but the thought of it scares me so much, I have goosebumps just from typing this. Think about this one, when we humans go out in to the wilderness to tag a bear in a helicopter, wouldn’t that bear’s account of what happened mostly be the same as a UFO abduction story? P.S. Fires in the sky also implied that the classic Roswell gray may be their version of a space suit. But I still like the line from the movie Paul: “What do you think we are doing, harvesting farts?”

@@beandip9803 Because the skeptics have obviously not taken the time to watch Bob's commentary about his experience at S-4 they have formed an opinion on here say instead of doing the homework themselves. Close mindedness can be damaging when one decides not to objectively examine the data at hand.

(This is a repost of a comment I had to bring up.) Oh Simon I'm so disappointed in you. I understand your a skeptic, hey I'm a skeptic I'm going to be as scientific as possible when looking into fantastic things. You swept right over the fact that Bob Lazar is in different phone directories as well as newsletters for the schools he "claimed" to attend. Its obvious that his name has been drug through the shit. I dont even know how to proceed. I love 99.9% of your content but for you to glance over straight up facts is bothersome. If your not a part of the disclosure of all things the elite try so hard to hide, then your part of the disinformation. He brought up element 115 how many years before the world recognized it to be real. What theories in physics that he has mentioned he believes to be true have been absolutely proven false? Simon please you have to update this video after some true research. I'm so sad every other topic you cover you obviously to the research but it's just as obvious you only looked into the skeptical point of view leading up to this video. I respected you so much, I still do but I cant trust you now. The US Gov has acknowledged many things the last few years I never thought they would. I'm devastated about this, I dont want to unsubscribe. Please I will even send you truly critical info on this matter.

Start searching public records on these people, theres a bunch of FOIA requests made public, i got a bunch on a drive account, but its all debunkable if you actually start looking for facts, instead of facts that only back up the narrative we WANT to be true.

@@lordmarshall5239 By that rationale almost no one is a colonist. Take the word by definition, a group living together. Even the idea that its once you have planted crops proves almost all of us/our civilisation/countries are colonists. In the interest of fostering amity though, fine Americans are no longer colonists in the strictest sense. Hopefully that does not offend your colonial sensibilities. All in jest.

Fun fact for that first bonus fact: that 'original' pronunciation is actually very close to the Japanese word for UFO. They just modified it a little for their language when the word was invented, and say ユーフォー yufuo [yoo-foo-oh]. A lot of words for things in Japanese that were invented after 1800s are just modified versions of words from other languages, usually English.
