One thing that I do find I miss when I play space engineers is the motion of machinery. Refining, assembling, generating power, it's all very still. You can HEAR your industrial blocks working but all you see is numbers getting bigger or smaller. Little mods like this don't do any favors for an already performance-starved game but they're still nice gestures.

As neat as the animations are, that's not how rod-based fission reactors work. Props to them for using Cherenkov blue for the glow instead of that overused sickly green, though.

tbf, you input just basic refined uranium pellets into the reactors, so i think the artistic liberties is fine

I planned to use green there xd

Nice detailed presentation of all animations, Jack! And very good work @Humanoidmp. I can imagine how much work you put into all these animation mods even there is only a miserable chance they will get official. And specially for this mod colour: players will always have some reminders about realism of radiation and fuse rods etc. And in the same moment they don't mind that their character teleports into and outside the cockpit or they put raw uranium into reactor or the ion thruster can accelerate in few seconds 😀

The spent rods need to change to color or dim before being removed. It seems kinda pointless other than the movement. I loved his assembler mod. I just wish he'd have made this one make more sense.

Yea i woudl also like that

lolz those rods put out less radiation then a microwave

this is really cool should of had these from the start so much realism

awesome!

I wonder with this configuration and not rods being moved up or down depending on how many fissionable particles are needed? Does this reactor not use water? Is there a pezioelectric component I'm missing?

Well the vanilla one in space engineers only needs refined uranium and it uses is super fast (compared to irl ones) Its most likely for gameplay as there isnt water per say but just ice as a rock and h2 and o2 and the uranium usege is super fast for balance as you have the most efficient ond powerfull power source but you cant just restock onece and be done for years But yae those animated coudl just add some water and steam turbines but it might be hard to add the latter becouse of space and to not make it cluttred
