The centuries long war between The Weave and The Amplitur, was upset by the extremely warlike humans. Originally, the humans had no control over their instinctual telepathic response to the Amplitur’s mental “suggestions”, which would render an Amplitur comatose. However, the Amplitur genetically altered some humans in an effort to make them “suggestible”, which initially worked, but was later reversed by Weave scientists. The Damned Trilogy is written by Alan Dean Foster and I recommend this series, it’s also available on Audible, if you prefer to listen to your book rather than reading it. I’m not affiliated with any publisher or digital media, I simply really enjoy Alan Dean Foster’s work.

Reminds me of a (web) novel series.. two alien alliances fighting each other, one with the ability to read and control minds (their 'allies' being under their control), the other fighting against that. Then Earth is discovered, both sides show interest in enslaving/saving them... Things get interesting when the mindreaders get their hands on a human and when they try to access the human's mind, it either kills them outright, or they go insane or catatonic... (due to all humans having ludicrously powerful innate psychic defenses) Genetic experiments by the mindreaders to nullify humanity's mental shielding go... poorly... (as it wasn't a barrier meant to keep minds out, but to keep it contained within)

I'm amused that the reader for this story pronounced "weary" the way it's written, in spite of it obviously being "wary" that was intended in that line, while later in the story, "shifted" was read as "sifted" because that's the more correct word for the line. Perfect pick of narrator for this story, btw! I'm also a little disappointed by the obvious lack of an editor on your script. You've got "the site was overwhelming" when that should have been "sight", you've got "death throws" which should be "throes", and "an experience diplomat" where "experienced" was the correct word. There's even a hand shift error with "female" written as "fenake". -This message brought to you by an editor.
