NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE PARISH #18: HUMBERSTON
One of the largest villages in Lincolnshire, welcome to the almighty Humberston, which occupies a tract of coastal land on the Humber Estuary, sharing a border with the town of Cleethorpes. The village's boundary with Cleethorpes runs along North Sea Lane and Humberston Road. Humberston as a settlement is still going through a transformational period, as it continues to expand further and further. It was once a quiet village which relied on fishing, but now it’s become a vibrant commuter settlement, with many of its residents working in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
It also welcomes every year, thousands of holidaymakers who flock to the Lincolnshire coast. Many of them stay at Humberston Fitties, an area defined by Thorpe Park Caravan Site, the glorious sands of Fitties Beach, and some vintage chalets.
Historical landmarks include the remains of a Benedictine abbey which was formed in around 1200 close to the site of the current church. In more recent times, two sea forts were built in the Humber Estuary, designed to protect it from enemy invasion during the war. Humberston was a heavily bombed place at that time, and some of those shells still exist…if you know where to find them!
And the place even has one of those landmarks you can’t see. That comes in form of The Prime Meridian which runs through the Thorpe Park caravan site. Oh, and its all named after a boulder. Lets go!

Its a public footpath. Perfectly legal to film anything from there. I'm used to schools now anyway. If kids are out then generally I won't film, although sometimes I can find a spot where they can't be seen
