It can definitely help give you ideas! I'd start by looking at the ingredients they used (the higher on the list the more likely it is to be important) and then look at sample formulations using those ingredients. See if any patterns emerge-and see if anything they've done DOESN'T show up in the sample formulations. That could be they key :)
