Just bought it through your link! Sad to say a year and a half after making a product on Etsy with 30 something five star reviews… I am finally teaching myself how to formulate properly! Haha… So I realized my regular food scale was not going to work because in order to make one sample of a concoction I really needed to get into micro measurements that most food scales just do not go to. A positive note I can still keep my food scale for when I am pouring melted balm into each container.

Hi,thanks for sharing this video.I bought a JSR-200 digital scale...and in grams it reads 0.00g...my question is to measure 0.5g of liquid germal plus...will the reading be right if it reads 0.05g...or rather 0.50g.This might seem an obvious answer but just want to be sure am reading the scale right.

I bought this, but some of your formulas were hard to measure, ie. on the coco coconut Simple conditioner bars 0.36 optiphen & 2.52g steric acid, I couldn’t measure, but had to change to ounces & still guess a little bit.. why is that? Is this scale not for everything or are there scales that go the extra .00 in grams?

Thank you!!! Crazy to admit - but I had no idea how to measure out my hair color cream & liquid developer. There are aspects of measuring two different types of ingredients that I didn’t understand or even consider. You answered every one of my questions perfectly. Really appreciate it. Xox 💛

Are those pipettes accurate enough to use them as a measure! I bought some from Amazon that are size 1 & 3 ml. Not sure how to use them other than what you demonstrated in the video. Great idea. Thanks for sharing! Your videos are so helpful.

I assume they're reasonably accurate as far as volume measurements go, but they're still a volume measurement, which means they aren't the kind of accurate we want :) I just like 'em for easier weighing of teensy amounts! Thanks for watching & DIYing with me :)

I just bought a Ozeri Pronto digital scale. It got pretty good reviews and measures down to 1g. Though I tested it out and it seems to measure inaccurately. For example a bag of rice in a plastic bags says the net weight is 907 g, but the scale weighs it as 916 g. Should I buy a different scale to get a more accurate reading? Thx
@HumblebeeAndMe
@HumblebeeAndMe 6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't treat a bag of rice as a calibration weight; I doubt a few grams makes a big difference to them, and if you're including the bag, that could easily add 9g. If you are really concerned, order a set of calibration weights :)

Question I’m trying to weight the 5.325 of watermelon oil from your lip scrub recipe my scale is capacity 1000g and is 0.1g graduation. However the numbers aren’t allowing to get that 5.325. Is it my scale? Thanks

Your scale simply isn't precise enough-the closest you'll be able to get is 5.3g, but that should be fine :) Have you watched my recent live stream on scales? I think you might find it helpful!

Hi Marie! Thankyou so much for this video... its so helpful for beginners like me... can i ask, what is the benefit of weighing liquids instead of working with ml? Also does 1g of liquid equate to 1ml?
@HumblebeeAndMe
@HumblebeeAndMe 4 жыл бұрын
The answer to your second question more or less answers the first one-1g of liquid is not 1mL unless you're working with water 😊 It's also WAY more precise; I can weigh out 0.35g of any liquid, but I would not feel confident in a 0.35mL measurement. Happy making!

Hi, Marie. Scales are all different nowadays. Your scale is showing 1.00 for ten grams. My scale has no decimal points for grams, it just says 10g. You have a recipe for citrus body butter that calls for 32.5g of butter. On my scale, I weigh it out as 33g! That same citrus butter recipe also has measurements of 0.25g and 0.2g. I got confused and dumped the project! Can you recommend a not to expensive scale that will give me precise gramage! You see, I'm so confused that I'm making up words!

@HumblebeeAndMe 4 жыл бұрын
15g isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it's a pretty good amount in the world of DIY skin care. Think about a tube of lip balm-that's just ~4.5g and lasts forever!

16 oz makes 1 pound…10 grams equaled to 1.00 so what is the 1.00? Ounce?
@HumblebeeAndMe
@HumblebeeAndMe 3 жыл бұрын
When I weigh out 10g beeswax the scale reads 10.0g, not 1.00; this scale only registers one digit after the decimal point for grams, so it's not possible for it to show 1.00g :) If you re-watch the video you'll see the decimal point is not where you seem to have seen it.
