Good video, well done for actually being humble about it all Mike. Top tip when working with someone of this calibre (I'm talking about Jill) have them video you, and then watch the video and tell the pro what you are doing wrong, then you can literally see what needs improving and they can help you see it.

Serious question. Does pumping actualy add speed? Or is the speed being adding by the minor crank Flicking that happens when you pump? I've only tried on a small pump track and I find noi amount of pumping adds speed.

It definitely adds speed - in most pumptrack competitions they compete without a chain, so it's not the crank movement propelling them forward.

It absolutely accelerates your bike without any pedaling. It's the same physics as a skateboarder gaining speed pumping the transitions of a half pipe.
