I'm in. I have a list. A very long list. I better start saving now if it's roughly $7.00 per name.

This was very interesting! I've been to HK several times, but I've never heard of this before(and I've never heard my parents mention it either).

I could never imagine so many people participating in the ritual of actual Villain hitting. This was an eye opener, thanks Virginia. May I ask the price the senior lady charged you? Thanks
@hongkongfoodtours3 жыл бұрын
Yes and actually a lot of them were quite young (not elderly) that were waiting in line. It was $50 HKD.

When I was a kid in Hong Kong on Chinese New Year eves in the 1960s, we talked about hitting petty people. At the time, I thought we were supposed to roam the streets beating up people 😬 I'm glad I didn't. . . 🤔 or am I.

Voodoo, Vudú, Vodou, or Voudun. Those are African Diasporic Religions, particularly of West African spiritual traditions, as well as syncratic religions such as Santería, Candomblé, Umbanda, and Shango. This is not voodoo or any of the sort. This is Hong Kong. Folk religion sounds more fitting in general. If there's a more proper term to describe this practice, it's probably found and translated from Cantonese.
