The weight gain is an important question to me because Prednisone made me overweight, now I'm taking Humira and I'm going back down to normal, so it doesn't cause weight gain and this is the only thing that works for my RA. I love this stuff!

I'm trying to get as much information about humira that I can get. My brother in law 56 yrs old just died yesterday from becoming septic secondary to kleibsilla pneumonia. He had no real medical history , in decent health, a little overweight but nothing crazy. His only diagnosis his whole life was psoriasis and it was pretty severe and even tho it wasn't physically debilitating, it was mentally. So he tried cosentx initially and it didn't do anything. So the doc prescribed humira shots. He was 3 shots in, when all of a sudden one day he said he was tired, called out of work and by the evening he was confused, stumbling , incontinent. He was immediately brought to the hospital where he was found to be in the initial stages of septicemia. Blood cultures showed an opportunistic bacteria called kleibsilla which is a common hospital acquired bacteria, very resistant to antibiotics. Within 6 hours he was intubated, in icu, with 8 pumps pushing heparin , antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, sedatives like fentynal. His blood work consistently showed complete organ shut down. He liver enzymes we in the 1000s, they started dialysis cuz his kidneys showed 20 percent. Developed chf, troponins in the high 80s. 2 days later we made the choice to pull him off life support because thw doc said there was nothing else they could do. He wasnt responding to treatment. he past peacefully. I believe that the humira shots lowered his immune system so much so fast, that this bacteria was able to infiltrate his body without mercy. The nurses said that none of the treatments touched him. I don't think this is all a coincidence. I'm just trying to get some answers.

I was prescribed Humira for Crohn's Disease because I developed a fistula. I have taken Humira for over 3 months. It caused severe nausea. I have been extremely exhausted. My arthritis became worse. I was having increased body pains that at first I was blaming on my fibromyalgia. Then I developed bad tendon pain and had developed lumps of swelling on my achilles tendon. My symptoms increased with time. I also noticed some hair loss. I can't wait until this is out of my system! I feel like I have been poisoned.

@@vegangrepresent4140 My Achilles tendon is still terrible. I had an appointment with a specialist but ended up with Covid so I had to cancel that appointment. It’s still very swollen near my heel on the sides of my heels. It’s mostly on my right side. And then on one leg I have lumps all over the Achilles tendon. It’s extremely painful. I just hope this isn’t going to be a permanent problem. The nausea has improved. And my hair is growing in again. Thank you for caring enough to ask.💙

I know this video was posted a year ago but I have a question. What about the deadly cancer risk that Humira produce? Is there no other medicine that can be used to fight uveitis besides Prednisone?

I think there may be other options but not necessarily medications. Keep an eye out next week as I start dropping more videos again. In regards specifically to uveitis you pretty much have two traditional options: monoclonal antibodies and steroids.

Took 14 months. Developed UTI's month 13 & 14. Stopped almost 3 months ago, last dose. Also, thinning of hair is not as rare as made to believe. I took H for small plaque psoriasis and it wasn't worth the risk. My skin is 100% clear ..I do not plan on resuming any biologic treatment.

I had Humira injections for 8 month and I developed alopecia 😭😭. I stopped it a month ago but my hair still falling and more patches are in my head. I am afraid I will get bald. 😢. Humira does cause Alopecia.

Hello. Today is (07-01-23) this video was a year ago. I have RA too. I was prescribed Humira injections twice monthly 9 months ago. I stopped last month because it cause me alopecia. I am almost bald. I have many bald patches and everyday I am losing tons of hair. I am afraid I will have to shave my head and wear wigs 😭😭. I don’t know if my hair will grow back 🙏. But now I don’t what I will do to treat RA. I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed Methatrexate the same medication that my rheumatologist prescribed but this can cause hair loss too. Please let me know what are you doing to treat the pain for RA. Thank you.

Brittany - Humira can cause nervous system side effects like you described. While they are not common it is something you definitely want to talk to your doctor about

None of these medications comes with less side effects. All of them cause cancer and other things. It just a temporary tool to reduce pain, but are these side effects worth it? Dunno…had Xeljanz and got almost my intestines removed (was lucky to be taken to hospital immediately).

So sorry 😢 you got cancer ! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis & Humira has been a miracle for me. I have 2 side effects: 1- Extreme, exhaustion that puts me in bed for 3 days. 2- Bruising at the injection site. Having 3 BAD DAYS, is totally worth it because I get 11 good days.
