@@mohawkgarage Thank you. You've answered so much already. I will most likely take you up on that when I get to it in the spring. I only in the past year or so been refurbishing my 2004 H2. In my tinkering I have figured out the real issue with the shifter getting stuck in park and came up with a solution, which as far as I can see none has figured out as far as KZbin videos go. I can show you if you'd like. Very sneaky lil problem I could see many overlooking. Also I know how to properly fix the broken wire down in on the shifter that causes the key to be locked in the damn steering column. I was pulling my battery terminal off every time I wanted to leave the truck. Otherwise I'd have a dead truck everyday. Hint, no amount of lithium grease will free it. Anyway that and many other finding in the ole beast. I may post a video of the shifting mechanism because I think that could help a lot of people. It's not on here, not even close.

Side note, 08/09 H2 have the 4L80E so if you’re doing the swap, just look that year up for the parts you need
@mohawkgarage6 ай бұрын
I'm almost certain that 08/09 came with the 6L80, not the 4L80E. They are not the same length. Where did you see that they're the same? Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great video !!!! What is the model of the transfer case that came on that 3/4 truck ?
@mohawkgarage2 жыл бұрын
I'll research it and let you know. It was stock to the truck and behind a 6.0 liter gas. Thanks for watching!

Great videos! I am preparing to embark on a wild hummer build for my channel. I have some questions if you didn’t mind me bothering you to ask about the swap? I only seen the two videos on the swap and wasn’t sure if I am missing anymore when I’m looking through your channel? Thank you for your help!!

@@mohawkgarage thank you so much for getting back to me. what did you do for your crossmember?
@mohawkgarage Жыл бұрын
@@Higgsgarage That's easy, I just flipped it around. It almost perfectly located the mount. I still had to drill a hole, but it was not far off at all.
@tomasher54443 жыл бұрын
Nice detailed video. Question though, do you loose the all wheel drive? Or does the new transfer case have a center diff?
@mohawkgarage3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The diff. doesn't change, meaning AWD is retained.

Did you ever do a part 3?
@mohawkgarage Жыл бұрын
I did not. The H2 has been doing fine. Not really much to report. It is, however, for sale. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@mohawkgarage thanks. I think go with a modified 4l65e if I decide to build the motor.

Sean . How far back did you move the crossmember bolt holes in this 4l80e conversion. I am pre making a cross member for my H2 . Also still waiting for the follow up video .
@mohawkgarage3 жыл бұрын
This may sound a bit abstract, but I reversed the crossmember, then drilled holes where the bolt holes needed to be. The back of the crossmember pad lined up with back of the trans mount, so I measured the distance from the back of the mount to the bolt holes, then I measured the same distance on the crossmember? Does that make sense? Video coming soon. My video equipment is with my Corvette out of state. I'm doing a series on it, too. Sorry for the delay!
@1fastbuggy5023 жыл бұрын
@@mohawkgarage So then. The trans pan is over top of the crossmember .That would then only allow for a stock trans pan and not a deep pan . I have a deep pan going on mine . Hence the need to move the center of the cross member back . And one more thing is , how much did you cut off the stock rear drive shaft ?
@mohawkgarage3 жыл бұрын
@@1fastbuggy502 I was told that the measurements can vary slightly from truck to truck, so it's best to measure your truck on your own. If you wanna take a chance, I can measure both of mine and let you know.
