What a coincidence I just bought an autoplilot from the same folks the other day. Just so happened to get a Humminbird and was looking for install videos! Good stuff.

Excellent video. Is the transducer low enough for the side imaging to work properly? Just wondering if the hull blocks the side imaging.

Yes, works properly.

Question for you. Can you connect a hummingbird to your ipilot so you can use the "Go to Waypoint" feature?

Do you need to add any kind of in line fuse?
@texascoastalliving3 жыл бұрын
I used to have one but it corroded. So I’ve been running it without one for the past three years.

Did your Hummingbird come with those nuts and bolts, or did you have to get them separately? I just went to mount my Helix 7, and it's missing those the 2 nuts and bolts.
@TheOutdoorfiend2 жыл бұрын
The two bolts it doesn’t come with are stainless #10 bolts 5/8” long with lock nuts.

QUESTION: Would it be worth lowering the hummingbird mount 1/4” so that it sights slightly below the factory mount plate (instead of being flush) to take that “pinch” off of the transducer cable? It looked like you had plenty of clearance to lower it that much without the transducer hanging below the hull.
@zakobrien8764 Жыл бұрын
Exactly my thought as well. I have an Autopilot 120 and my Helix 7 arrives this Friday, I'm going to try installing it just like you described to take the pinch/kink off that cord.
@hilldaron172 жыл бұрын
just lower your mount a little further down from it being flush and your have more room for the cord to not get crimped

what was the grease you put into the power chord? I assume its to keep the pins from corrosion?
@texascoastalliving3 жыл бұрын
Dielectric
@bassinbilliards62793 жыл бұрын
Dielectric grease just helps with connectivity so the connection is stronger.

Great info 👍 the fact that you know the actual size of the screw says alot about you and how you work on things . I'm a contractor and very few people know screw sizes

As a patreon, do you need something extra to make the track-mount?
@texascoastalliving3 жыл бұрын
You don’t. The Ram mount is designed to plug and play. It should be linked in the video description.

@@texascoastalliving I have a Humminbird, Helix 7, CHIRP MSI GPS G3N coming this week. My question was how to mount to my track mount rail of my Sportsman 136. I did find one and is expected to ship the first week of June. I'm sure we will cross paths OTW someday :). BTW, my Mariner sails 110 Ah Li is amazing!

Thanks for the video, about to install this on my wifes autopilot. Two questions, was the power cable long enough out of the box? Ours is 6' so wondering do I need to add to it. Secondly, did you add a 3 amp fuse to the power cable? It is something they say is needed, so wondering if you've done this and/or if you've had any issues. Thanks again!
@texascoastalliving2 жыл бұрын
The cable is long enough and I don’t use a fuse 👍

Hey Mark, I’m looking for a fish finder and wanted to know how happy or disappointed you are with it. Do you know what’s the KLH on the transducer? So many different names and models it’s crazy & I thought choosing and buying a kayak was hard… this is worst.

Anyone who doesn’t have this battery you’ll wanna run a fuse. Pretty sure his battery has one in the wiring but great video man.

Wow, Great Job! You just got yourself a new subscriber here. That smile on your face at the end tells how satisfied you were with the outcome. Do you know if the underside of the autopilot is the same as the sportsman’s 120 PDL? I want to install the same fish finder on the Sportman’s 120 PDL.
