Alapana,, being abstract,, is for many hard to relate to and is something one needs to grow into by focusing as much on the melody (actually raga) than just the words. I remember my own early days when I would fast forward to get to the kritis and swara prasthara - in fact, fast forwarding even the neravals since the nuanced subtle differences in successive repetitions were often beyond me then.. But you have taken out the mystery of it in a simple way. Efforts of this type are vital for increasing the support base for Carnatic music. Perhaps you can follow up with one on neraval too.

An extra second palpable hiatus between two lines to me mesmerizing rather than the singing per se. ஒருவேளே தாங்கள் சேர்த்திருந்தால் அதற்கு என் அறியாமை தான் காரணம். மன்னிக்கவும். இன்னொன்று ஹம்மிங் இல்லை தான். இருப்பினும் எங்காவது நடந்தோ, பிரயாணமாகவோ போகும் போது ஹரிஹரனின் "விடுகதையா இந்த வாழ்க்கை" bombards as a serendipitous attack on our ears and then the heart. The song's s sustained high pitch - straight commencing somehow gives an expression equivalent to an aalap throughout, if I can take the musical license. (சக்ரவாஹம் என நினைக்கிறேன்). Thank you sir for this riveting presentation leaving us frozen. Pranams.
