I must say I am thrilled to have this channel to see the hummers. I showed it to my 95 aged Mother and she just loves to watch them. During the day, I will put your live cam on my big living room TV and watch them for hours. I especially like them during their feeding frenzy in the evening. Please keep up the great hummingbirdspot web cam.

I'm a birder living in Malaysia, we don't have Hummingbirds, but I really love to see these fascinating birds. Too bad I didn't see any hummingbird when I was in California 20 years ago. I wish I could see as many as Hummingbirds before I die. Love your channel.

I love this! Subscribed now, to follow you on your journey to photograph as many HB-species as you can. My first HB: a male Anna's at Vazques Rocks in April 1995 (I'm from Sweden). The next were Allen's and Costa's. In March-April 1996 I returned to California (the early date due to my wish to see Rock Sandpiper) and got Black-chinned and Rufous at Tucker WS. Then cross country to Florida, wich of course yielded Ruby-throated. 1997 to Texas & Colorado (no hummers in CO, it was in March and we chased Prairie Chickens and such) gave Buff-bellied HB at Santa Ana WR. April 1998 saw my list expand with Rivoli's, Broad-billed, Violet-crowned, Blue-throated MG and Broad-tailed. 2001 I went to Costa Rica and did fairly well there (didn't get 100%), the next 2 years was spent in the non-hummer part of the world so there wasn't really a boost until I went to Brazil 2004 (Mato Grosso and a sliver of Itatiaia NP). Not many feeders but I still got 22 new species. But a camera catastrophe happened and my ability to photograph grinded almost to a halt halfway through that trip :-( Aug 2005 I went 3 weeks to NW Ecuador (without guide 65% of the time, so I missed Wedge-billed HB for instance) which of course gave my HB-list a good sized boost. Have returned there 3 more times, still no Wedge-bill... In early May 2008: a quick return to Arizona gave Berylline, White-eared and Lucifer, very productive trip :-) 2009 Bolivia, not a good country for HB-feeders, but I still got a few new species (13) 2011 (3 weeks Feb-March almost all over the country) & 2012 (12 days in Jan, only Papallacta-Guango and then 7 days at WildSumaco Lodge) to Ecuador that gave me 9 more to the list. Oct 2012 back to Brazil, now the NE corner. Got 13 more. After that: no more new hummers. Spent time and money traveling the Old World. Well except 2 trips to California 2013 (spring and fall) and one humdinger to Alaska 2017. But those trips didn't give any new hummingbirds. The one species frequently breeding in USA that I still miss? CALLIOPE! Sorry to be so long winded, but as you understand: I relate to your quest!

That's how I started! My own birds, then Arizona, then Texas for the Ruby-throat. One thing led to another and became an obsession! Pretty soon I will be seeing you in Colombis and Ecuador, haha!

This is all great content, thanks for doing this. We have 4 feeders and have a batch of Anna's that seem to be most common here in Ventura County. We also have one or two Rufous that seem to like to chase the others off. There is more than enough feeders for everybody but that does not seem to matter.

I now have all the species you've seen written down in order [I'm missing four, grrr, but I'll get them] so I'm starting over at square one and re-watching every video for every species AND stopping at each card to read my new copy of Bartley & Swash.
