"Once upon a time there were two Chinese." (wait for non-existent laughter; hinting about exponential growth does nothing). "What's the center of gravity? The letter V!!!" about the only response I've gotten is "They have long winters where you live, don't they." Now you tell me there are groups who tell each other math jokes? As someone coming across this theory for the first time I have two thoughts: First, "those have to be very small echo chambers." and second, "Cool!" Replaying The Wizard of Oz in my mind, I now hear "Isosceles." The joke is A = 2A, which is only true for A = 0, so he has a point. PS I know some meth jokes. they live down the street.

The irony of some people here taking jabs at the average youtube commenter as the take away from this video is amazing. A point brought up in this video was that humor is subjective, and that if people don't find your jokes funny, then they aren't the problem. The vice-versa is also true. If you don't find jokes funny and other people do then it doesn't mean your sense of humor is superior. Most people find the jokes funny, that's why they get upvoted, and hence they are funny. Thinking of the average person's sense of humor as inferior is a surefire way to fail in comedy writing.

@@ineednochannelyoutube5384 I can't nor agree 100% with either one comment or the other. Opinions have a certain value. There are jokes better than others. That doesn't mean that everyone has to like your jokes even if they are great. You can't please everyone, each one has certain tastes. What will happen is that, depending on both the publics' preferences and your ability to tell jokes, they will laugh more, or less, or maybe won't laugh at all. Sometimes it is difficult for some people to fully enjoy English humor because of its subtlety. It doesn't mean they don't get it. Maybe they don't laugh as much and prefer a more direct and more evident kind of humor. That doesn't mean that just random farts will always do the job. However, there are people who laugh at that. Better said, you should check your target to know what kind of humor best fits your style and is more effective for you.

@@superprincesscelena7543 There is nothing subjective about the value of youtube comment 'humour'. And its not evene the monty python spam scetch absurdist 'repeate one thing ebough and it will be funny'. Its a million different people all being too creatively bancrupt to have an original thought. The trick to jokes about racism in modern day is that the joke is on the act of racism not on the person. The absurdity of being racist is easy to focus on and you can just dial up the absurdity to suit your needs. Say you're being heckled by someone with darker skin than you. Making the comeback of "My skin's lighter than yours so that makes me the better person." Is such an absurd statement that you can't take it seriously. And you can just keep dialing up the absurdity by being ever more literal with the statements. Its also easy to keep your targets varied by leaning into the "but who is actually white" argument. If you do it right you can argue against every European ethnic group's inclusion into who is white. Primarily because grouping people by skin color is an mostly an american invention and until recently, historically recently, a person's race was synonymous with their ethnic group.

4:12 Ah yes, I remember reading a story where a chicken was set on fire... And it was unironically funny.

The basic idea behind humor is a benign violation of norms. If it’s edgy or dark, it plays on the panic response. While I enjoy most bwa videos this one is a little sub par.

Hey JP! Long time fan here! Just wanted to thank you for these videos, they are both a great source of entertainment and education. Take care of yourself even though the world sucks a bit more at the moment.

Here is a joke: A haircutter goes to an old ladies house to cut her hair.and the old lady's daughter was there too. Old lady:how did you come here?did you drive? Hair cutter:I took the bus. Old lady:the bus huh?I no longer ride these ever since what happened last time. Hair cutter:what happened? Old lady:well I was really tired and I needed to sit somewhere,so I nicely asked from a young man to get up and let me take his seat. He looks at me and tells me"are you nuts old lady?" Old lady's daughter:mom I keep telling you that he was the bus driver.
