Hundreds evacuated as Britain hit by more wind, rain and flooding

Britain has been hit by more storms, high winds and "unprecedented" flooding on the south coast.
More than 200 people were evacuated from the Medmerry holiday park in West Sussex and areas like Earnley, Littlehampton and Bracklesham after the River Arun burst its banks.
Littlehampton was badly hit with flooding damaging many properties.

If councils cleaned the road gutters and drains like they used too, this wouldn't be the problem it is. If the government allowed farmers to irrigate and stop damming streams etc, this wouldn't be a problem. In short, this is ENTIRELY created by failing to maintain the infrastructure.

So many people still buy houses on flood plains here in the UK. Fxxx knows why half the time. Possibly because homes are cheaper but they know the risks. Just don't do it!!!

It's a shame, it is such an awful thing to happen. Still perhaps now that SE England has been hit, the authorities might do more to reinforce flood areas. It depends on their class hit really.
