that's right thinking like you and me in western countries, that if Hawaii became independent, the same will happen with Jamaica or the Dominican Republic, but you just don't know that even before Hawaii came into the hands of the US, it was already a very stable country, trade was there, of course, would have had problems just like any other country but because the people of Hawaii became part of the US, they and other local people were treated as 2nd rank people, in their own territory, just like in China, during the Qing era
