Looks really good! Just a heads up, those potatoes had a bit of a green color on them! It can happen with any potatoes, yellow (yukon), red, or russet. It's not so safe as they can upset the stomach. When they're exposed to light too long they turn green and whatever chemical it is gets released. I never knew this until working in a produce department at a grocery store.

I’d have trimmed some of that excess fat off. But that’s me, you go on witcha bad self. And here in Cajun Country (Southwest Louisiana), we like to cut slits all over the roast & stuff them with garlic & onion. It permeates the entire roast with great flavor. Been that way ever since I can remember. Mom did it, her mom before her, & grandmother passed down.
@CamirrasKitchenАй бұрын
that method is awesome! I should try stuffing mine with onion and garlic. great suggestions. tbh i could have cut off some of the fat lol
@craighebert4655Ай бұрын
@@CamirrasKitchen if you do try it, best to use green onion. Stick a sole green onion in the slit & cut the excess off with kitchen shears.

Miss Camirra, please do not give that broth or oil to your dogs. Onions, garlic and leeks are toxic for dogs and cats. The risk of food contamination is higher when you wash your meat instead of not washing it. I heard that from a bacterial food specialist.

@@CamirrasKitchen I wash my chicken breast lol Habit, more like a tick. So I understand lol
@vetgirl719 ай бұрын
I don’t care what any “experts or specialists “ say, I will ALWAYS wash my poultry, meats, veggies & fruit. 😅😂 My ancestors practiced it and it’s the reason you never hear about food poisoning outbreaks in our communities. Unless we eat outside food prepared by others. Also washing my hands continuously while prepping & cooking food to alleviate cross contamination. That’s the number one thing my mother taught me is important when cooking or baking food. So for those of you who don’t want to wash your meat or poultry, you do you! That’s why we have to be careful about eating other people’s foods! 😅😂❤

I'm so confused! 😩 Half of the 3lb chuck roast recipes I've seen say 7-8hrs on HIGH. The other half say LOW. Is there no difference between the two? If low is the way to go, you'd think all the recipes using high temp would end up looking like a big pot of pureed chilli at the end. Lol...
@CamirrasKitchen10 ай бұрын
7-8 highs is way too long i think for a 3lb roast. but i would say experiement on your slow cooker. its always safer in my opinion to go low first.
@vetgirl719 ай бұрын
4 hours high if your short on time OR 7-8 hours low depending on how big your roast is & your appliance since all different brands work differently. High is usually half of the hours you use for your low setting. Food can get overcooked & even burn in a crockpot if it is cooked too long. You can also always Google to find out what setting to use for different meats/poultry too.
