Hunger Action Month: What people in Hampton Roads are doing to tackle food insecurity this September

September is "Hunger Action Month," a month dedicated to programs that raise awareness and inspire action to end hunger across America. In Hampton and Newport News, The Virginia Peninsula Food Bank is kicking off the month with a two-day event in partnership with Hampton Roads Transit. Multiple donation boxes have been placed at the Hampton and Newport News transit centers. Asking for non-perishables like pasta, peanut butter, canned meats and vegetables. The goal is to lower food insecurity one meal at a time.
