And the reason chara has sans on the knife is because it's referencing the genocide route where frisk basically gets possessed by chara when you fight sans, not a bit of frisk is left (at least that's a popular theory) chara is basically evil as well. This is simply due to the fact that Chara, much like Frisk, is a gender neutral character, so "friend" is the most gender-neutral term. Plus, it's never referred to in-game (to my knowledge) of anyone referring to Asriel as Chara's brother. I COULD be wrong.

I can answer some of your questions: 1. Where's Chara during the Pacifist and Neutral routes? In Frisk's soul, being the narrator. Why is Burgerpants called Burgerpants? It's a nickname because one time he had some Glamburgers in his pants to give to these two girls or something. Asriel is NOT the goat version of Chara, their personalities are very different and most of the fandom does not think Asriel is evil (or at least when he's not Flowey). By the way, Annoying Dog and Toby Fox are the same entity (Annoying Dog is Toby Fox's in-game persona). Gaster is powerless in current state.
