You guys may not have the money and the flash that they do. But I think your musicians and sounds are better than theirs.

Skin tingles listening to this. Top notch backing vocals and harmonies, a searing sax solo, and musicians who respect each other and understand their role in the song. From Meat Loaf to Elton John and now Eric Carmen, Darren: you excel time and time again, matching the calibre of some of the world's greatest vocalists (and producers). You have that lovely bit of grit in your voice a couple of times here that wasn't part of the original. Speaking of eyes, the best part of your delivery of a song is in your eye expressions, whether its a wink, a knowing look, the smile in them - or the cheeky side-eye here at 1:58!

I'm sorry, but this is just a next level performance. Love this song so much. I had to wait till the morning to hear it (damm time zones) but it was so worth it! Shaun on bass was a surprise. Is there (like Crafty) anything he can't play? Emile was excellent on the sax solo. Stuart filled the board gap. The boys on backing vocals were amazing, but c'mon, Mr Mullen, double damm! Your expression, passion and voice are just, wow. This is an instant multiple repeat. RIP Eric Carmen. Harley was blown away by this he told me. Kudos from Matty x
