Excellent presentation of the oxidation topic. also why add plain water first before adding lemon juice?
@nextworldaction8828 Жыл бұрын
I agree. great experiment, but I worry everything is too diluted.

can I ask why we need to add the plain water first before put the solutions like lemon juice ? thankyou in advance
@Celtjak72 жыл бұрын
because you have to make a solution. You can't just add, for example, a plain vitamin C tablet to the apple. It needs to be able to move through water, and thus through the apple

What about keeping your apples sealed in a container? I'm planning on doing an experiment soon myself for a project.

I forgot to buy a lemon the other day when I bought my bag of apples to make a deep dish apple pie I think I’m just gonna go for the honey and water trick than drain and Pat dry my apples someone mentioned the salt one leaves your apples tasting like salt even after they rinsed the water so honey or orange juice or even pineapple juice would be a better alternative
@nimotalahibintmustopha9523 Жыл бұрын
The water ratio to salt won't make it salty. Little salt is needed

@HungrySciANNtist20203 жыл бұрын
Hi Amal, In the result of my experiment, sugar solution helps inhibit oxidation in the apples.

But how long does the salt keep the apple from browning?
@charmsc17332 жыл бұрын
Good question

@@charmsc1733 I saw another video with salt solution. After draining she put them in a airtight container and said they last up to 3 days.
@DayUno4132 жыл бұрын
drain them from the salt water after a few mins and then store them in cold plain water or an airtight container.
