I think the greatest part of this game is most the guns are totally able to win against each other depending on the user which makes the game completely opinion based, and thats awesome!!! Use what gun you love the most and you can keep up with all the other firepower just fine

How many S/A/B tiers there are says a lot about how healthy the state of balance is right now. Yeah there's the clear metas that inch above the rest in their respective orders, but you can play almost anything and be competitive.

Agreed - I play with my duo, and (Playing solo/duo into trios, is supposed to make you play vs trios that have lower MMR as a whole towards you) still get into trios that are all 6 stars. So our MMR is up there.... But we play alot of - non meta - loadouts . Instead of C&K or Mosin, we use Silenced Vet, Bow, Mako, Romero Hatchet, Officer Carb, etc . We try to play as rats/bushwookies, almost have to, to drop one player and make it into a 2v2 situation. What im getting at is, im pretty high up there, but still use whatever i want, and dont feel forced to play the meta to keep up.

and then even some of the lower ranked guns (like the base Lemat) can still be useful for ammo/not as a shotgun, I think it's probably some of the most balanced fps out there

marathon at C doesn't feel right with how its hipfire is so much more consistent than the other compact ammo rifles with or without levering (jump hipfiring works crazy good with it) and it has a much nicer ads experience due to being pump-action + great irons + fastest fire-rate. really works well with aggressive plays

@@issayori no matter how good a weapon is, there are weapons that do it better along with other benefits. I love the marathon! My love doesn’t blind me to its faults though. Low pen unless fmj and then low muzzle velocity. Has to compete with shotguns/levering/fanning etc in close range and low dmg and cannot pen someone’s hand blocking their face if it’s doesn’t have fmj

drilling hatchet actually has slower reload compared to full size drilling and drilling shorty has faster reload compared to fullsize drill. To be exact hatchet is 0.8 seconds slower than shorty. Almost a second. Which is huge in my opinion.

What I love in this game is that every weapon is completely useful and usable. Like for me the Crown and King is definitely King, but it’s cost burns big holes in my stack of hunt dollars, but yet I can take a Rival and sometimes pull off the same death and destruction as I could if I took a Crown and King, but I just have to play to the disadvantage’s that the Rival has compared to the C&K.

I would argue the Base LeMat is better than the Haymaker in the shotgun category if you're only taking the shotgun aspect into account as you can dualwield the base pistol.

I really wish / hope you would / will put the "special weapons" (bows, crossbows, etc) in the shotgun tier list, as I think they should correctly be compared side to side with other shotguns (similar OHKO distance, shotbolt is longer range romero, etc)

As I new player I’ve really been liking the Winnie-C and axe combo, Winnie covers most gunfights I encounter and the axe is great for killing ai especially bosses. The axe having a top swing heavy is nice for players in close range but I like bringing a knife for that. Overall it’s a nice cheap combo for my loadout but I might run the Pax soon because I love the single action army and considering axes often spawn on boss rooms it’s not really an absolute necessity.

Worth noting, for everyone who's worried about balance in this game between weapons directly (IMHO balance is great in this) it's always worth remembering that the price of guns balances how good they are

i like to think i use most guns fairly decently, minus avto and crown and king, i never use them ever, and i love how balanced most guns are. Some will always be stronger than others, but as a infantry/winfield (never gonna name them othervice) main, i love how much fun one can have with basicly every weapon

Worth mentioning: The marksman lemat carbine has the faster fire rate from scopesmith making it a pretty nasty mid range head clicker - it sadly isnt a dead eye Berthier's spitzer ammo is a lot cheaper due to the split ammo pools making it an amazing economy option against it's contemporaries as long as you can cope with the no partial reloads. That's also not considering it's reload time and over hasty-inclined stats cyclone is more a 3 shot gun with an emergency 4th shot. It's much more ideal to reload with ammo in the gun instead of from empty Infantry sniper is worthy of consideration due to it's massive distance before the bullet drops alongside it's ability to keep putting bullets out despite it being compact -gives it a unique place alongside the springfield marksman

What gun would you recommend to a new player. I have decent shot placements I seem to do really good with bolt actions and I love the Romero . I keep one tapping ppl . I can’t find a good lever action I like at all

The centennial is one of the best lever action rifles in the game and also one of the most bang for buck weapons in the game. mako is good if you want long ammo lever and right now. iron eye trait will make all lever actions feel better btw. hope this helps!

The sparks pistol I feel is rarely used as a pistol it's for either increasing ammo reserve like you said or when you using a loadout that it pistol needs to be ur rifle and ur rifle needs to be ur close range choice or pair it with shotgun. For instance spectre flechette sparks pistol can be fun

newish to the game and watching this - i feel you on the vandal but its GREAT for covering fire because of all the ammo it carries. i like that and a shorty shotgun for a cheap beginner loadout that covers a lot of ranges.

Both if I remember well. You almost never feel cheated anymore (shooting on target and the target not dying). If you are on target and in range, it dies.

The shotgun target reticle reflecting the spread is huge for me. Before I believe the height of the reticle lined up with the height of a hunter showing the OHK range. Before the changes I'd play longer range shotguns like the specter just because the reticle was tighter and I could hip fire aim better with it.

Personally, the Drilling Hatchet is a beast, two medium ammo shots, pop the shotgun round for when in a tight situation and the hatchet to destroy the enemy up close and personal.

*Sparks Silencer should be a 2 slot.* Completely useless as your main weapon and it makes no sense when the sparks pistol has higher muzzle velocity. Its obviously shorter than Sparks rifle, it has less velocity than Sparks pistol, it makes no sense from mechanical or game sense that this weapon is a 3 slot. Make it a quartermaster build gun, please.

Infantry sniper in B?! When hitting headshots is what matters to a sniper, having the lowest bullet drop and high mag size with levering for close range would put that gun at least in A with the Centennial Sniper. Now the non sniper variant I understand should be that low. If a swift variant of that gun comes out though, it would take A. And the Centennial Sniper at A seems like it could be argued as S alongside the others when you consider the High velocity having 750 m/s speed.

The fact of the matter is that it's still a sniper so while it's good at clicking heads at a distance, iron sights will still be the best bang for your buck. At close range you better be packing a medium specter or something cause otherwise you're screwed in a gunfight

@@DamianJoseph661 obviously a shotgun wins up close. Which is why my sniper load outs are only quartermaster ones that allow me to take a pocket shorty to cover that weakness. Horty shotguns got overbuffed in my opinion to the point I get more one shot kills with the shorty Romero than the big brother of it. I’ve barrel stuffed a person with the regular Romero and not killed them, but I get mid range 1 taps with the sawed off? Something ain’t adding up with that logic

Aim punching people with a levering terminus shorty is just so good tho! I’ve killed people in a straight in the open duel where I was so far away it took, 4 or 5 pulls to kill him, but he’s getting aim punched so hard he can’t get his rifle on me.

Imo the best shotgun is without a doubt the terminus with levering, its been much more consistent than the auto 5 for me Also for pistols the trueshot HV is what I always use alongside the terminus or crossbow, for long range shots Another weapon that people are sleeping on is the martini ironside HV/Spitzer (dont remember wich one it is) that makes the weapon compete with the big 3 in terms of over 125 dmg and high muzzle velocity, It basically becomes an ultra budget mosin! But i agree with most of the list in general 👌

I literally hate the auto 5 lol. EVERYTIME I use it the ring decides to spread my butt checks. In my opinion, the best shotguns the use are the rival 78, and the specter. The specter is the most consistent shotgun I have ever used while the rival 78 has decent range but a super fast follow up shot. I will always kill hunters with at least 2 shots, but have been finding myself lucky with one hits after the update. The terminus though takes the came with levering and bulletgrabber as the best shotgun in my opinion but only if you have levering.

Even though drilling shotgun is goated, I wouldn't put it way too high. The reason - laughably small ammo reserves. It's just so unforgiving to miss a shot or use it for wallbangs

katana has same melee range as bomb lance at least when it came out and railroad hammer in 1896 three shots most bosses 500ish damage axe is now 490ish so bassicly same. Shot bolt one taps and wall bangs with little increas in drop. explosive crossbow makes cover obselete. machete and cavalry saber both one tap light melee now which makes them better than bat in my opinion. They did not buff katana or bomb lance melee.

No way the rival trauma is that low. It has an extremely quick kill time on a duo. Maybe it can't wipe a trio like a crown, but it's solid and that hammer can smack most of the bosses.

Infantry sniper is the most overpowered 6 star weapon. Loterally has no bullet drop, 660m/s travel time and fires every 1.2 seconds. Only in mid range it's worse than long ammo but it can also be levered close up. Overall I consider it S-tier just becauae you get so much ammo and it's just free kills every time it's in the loadout.

suppressed weapons are just not as good in straight up fights as all the other weapons. no matter how hard you try to be stealthy, people with silence weapons will find themselves in straight up fights at some point. then you really see how weak they are

What does the gun being consistent mean?

@@agourent consistently does what the stats says it will do. So if a gun says it does 136 dmg. You would expect the gun to two shot up close because players only have 150 health. Some guns suffer a lot from limb dmg etc and fail to even three tap at close ranges. Making them inconsistent

The krag has been SLOWLY climbing the ranks? Heck no!!! A single patch right before 1896 shot it up from low B tier to S tier overnight. It singlehandedly gave it one of the best ammo economies of long ammo weapons AND gave it a 1 shot ability to hunters down a bar. It was not a slow process at all, and it was such an overbuff on cryteks part.

@@schiedinator8074 pax has a better cycle time then both and that matters a lot in compound fights. Pax and true shot have better fans then the uppercut which also matters. And they get bleed ammo. The true shot being better is because it is basically the uppercut medium ammo now but for 1/4th the price but uppercut and pax trueshot are pretty equal. upper has some benefits that trueshot doesn't and trueshot has a few things upper doesn't

I've honestly just never liked the mako. The sights dont feel good, and theres no reason to take it over the other long ammo guns. I feel like its on the same level as the berthier, but the berthier has 6 more shots and is cheaper.

The Mako can use levering (it's actually really good with levering) as well as take explosive ammo. Laugh all you want, but explosive Mako low key slaps. Normally it's a very mid ammo type, but the Mako fires fast enough (especially with levering or iron eye) to where explosive is much more efficient on it than the one shotters like Springfield/MC-1 and even the uppercut. Plus it might just be me but explosive ammo feels a little bit better in this patch, dunno if it got buffed but either way I've been doing better with it than in the past

Full length Rival in B tier is wild to me! I also think the basic lemat should be higher simply because it has the benefit of being a one slot that can one tap within ten meters, and has higher velocity FMJ. It’s a better single action handgun with FMJ than most others if you don’t use fanning, then also has a shotgun for “oh shit” moments that kills a LOT more than you think it will.

I strongly disagree about spectre, right know is like the worst shotgun in the game hands down: i passed hours in training and right now it has a comparable onetap to rival, which is absolute nonsense. i don't know if it's intended or not but there is zero reason to pick spectre at the moment, not to mention the bayonette version which is the only bladed shotty with even more reduced range. F tier hands down. It should be like the old school shotty where specter was juuust a little less reliable than romero. Other than that i would put lemat pistol way up cause with slugs is like the go to for compounds without quartermaster.

Deadeye Marksmen Sniper scope sway on console makes snipers so slow they are very easy to deface with irons. Good tier list my dude. Console has it’s benefits I think 😊
