Today's video took a bit of time to make. Anyone who has caught my streams over the last couple weeks has probably seen me running Mosin / Dolch for the sake of this economical experiment. I tested my ability to run meta load-out for an entire prestige. Results in the video!

Some money making observations while playing about 600 hours as a solo vs trios: -Picking fights is expensive and can result in loss of money quickly -Always go for bounty if it's feasible to extract quickly and safely - solo extract bonus is huge when against trios -Explore quiet parts of map for registers/purses/saddle bags -Vulture/loot players after huge fights -Extracting without using any consumables saves lots of money over time -Use a load-out that has high cost effectiveness, as solo I use Sparks Sniper/Silenced Poison Nagant -Get to level 50 = 500 hunt dollars Overall, I view PVP as counter-productive to making money and will decide to either fight for fun or just go earn money. I don't try to do both, but sometimes you get lucky. I have ~500K hunt dollars and tons of weapons in my inventory.

i go solo vs trios for pushing and killing, its the most fun, why r u playing sol ovs trio if you don't challenge yourself and throw yourself out there, 9 times out of 10 i extract with the bounty, that is after i position myself for at least 1 ambush

So you are 6* star player and you can play best loadout just barely. This means 3-4* star players (which is like 80% of playerbase) can't do that. I think this is pretty good spot. Because if 6* star can't even afford this then the rest would be able to play only with s%$t guns.

Iam a 3star sittin on 300k hunt dollars and i still only buy mostly bows, crossbows, windfiels and other cheap stuff i want to stay 3 max 4 star forever tbh just chillin no sweaty players

The economy of hunt has been something i've brooded over for a couple years now. I do think it is completely broken, but I don't actually know the experience that the average player actually has with it so it's hard for me to be all too certain about the exact issues. I think there are three main issues - 1. cheap loadouts aren't actually cheap considering their odds of success. You can spend $500 on a low-mid tier loadout but your odds of success against good players utilising expensive loadouts ($1500 for mosin + dolch loadout) is rather low. To grossly simplify this, you could consider that if you have a very low win rate with the cheap loadout you are basically putting $500 into every match just to buy the loadout over and over. On the other hand, if you have a 50% winrate with the mosin+dolch then you only have to spend the $1500 every second game. 2. looting money from dead hunters is a very big rich-get-richer contributor. The best players kill enemies without using lots of consumables so these players get a bonus few hundred dollars each match. 3. Bloodline money rewards bloat the economy for everyone. You get very little money from bloodline up to level 66 (48k XP), then from 67-100 you get $8000 over an additional 50k XP, then $3000 every 25k XP. This especially benefits the best players who stack lots of xp on a level 50 hunter - another major rich-get-richer problem. (when i prestige, my quantity of money tends to explode from level 80 onwards) One of the top comments here is very interesting to me, that they think that 6 stars should obviously have a lot more money. In a dream world where matchmaking was perfect and completely fair, there is the exact same sources of money available to all different skills of player. The big thing is that better players know *how* to make money, and get more opportunities to wipe servers against less experienced players. Hard to say how much of an effect any of these are making but they are definitely having an effect. The large number of comments about actually wanting to have fewer stars to avoid sweaty playstyles and loadouts resonate a lot with what might be the main issue in hunt. There might just be too much of a power gap between different playstyles and weapons. The weapons you can balance but the playstyles maybe not so much. I think some rebalancing of the game could come first, then the economy rebalance follows suit after.

I have 2000 hours in Hunt, never prestiged. Have 2 main playstyles - rifle (any) = slow and methodical, changing the position after each shot, keeping my distance (because I am not very good with rifles at close ranges); shotgun/melee = ololo I'm going in. If I am a solo, I got the first bounty, and there is a second bounty over there (no matter if it is banished), I am going there to die or take it. Mostly playing on 4-star, sometimes hitting 5 stars. Average cost of my loadout is $400 to $600. After the economy update in the previous event I managed to boost an enormous amount of money ($200k+) without having a purpose of farming and griding money (either pre-made teams, or Solo in trios). With the Desolation's Wake event, they seem to re-balance the economy again as now I am mostly loosing money without making adjustments to my loadouts (they are not necessarily cost-efficient) or my playstyle (because I do not have a fix on taking the bounty and/or keeping the hunter alive, just playing).

As an average 4 star player, and someone who has more hunt dollars than i know what to do with (450k) there are really only two pieces of advice i can give: 1, go for the bounty and try to be the first one there. You cam control the fight at the boss lair on your terms, and theoretically, people "should" be fighting over the bounty/boss lair most of the time. If you win and extract, thats profit; 2, take an "effective" loadout, that doesnt mean meta or budget, but it could, as long as your good with it. If youre good playing shotguns, great, of you sit back from 10000 lightyears and get kills, okay, as long as your good witg getting kills, that will improve your survival rate. Take these two points and run with it. Youll be able to play whatever gun/loadout you want.

I am the same, constantly switching between 4 and 5 stars and I mostly run cheaper weapons like the winfield, lemat carbine, marathon, rival, etc. and I have tons of fun in the game like this. One of my favourite loadouts is still romero handcannon+nagant precission :D Sometimes I play to good of weapons for to long and get to high in the mmr, then I run absolute meme loadouts for a while and in other very shitty times when I am about to hit 3 stars even I run meta loadouts like slate/crown+uppercut or mosin/lebel + officer dumdum or even dolch very rarely. All just to stay in the healthy 4 star bracket. This way my money used to grow quite a lot after the economy change, but stagnated since the ballancing. So I'd argue they did a good job at ballancing it again. I am buying a lot of legendary hunters again.

I'm suprised no one else is complaining about this or cares at all, in patch 1.15 I thought it was the most ridiculous thing in the world what they did to prestiging. You literally can just prestige and use nitro for 10 games straight because of how you get to keep your weapons and have 1k hunt dollars at level 1. Not to mention, the hunt dollars u get for leveling up, dark tribute, bounties you extract with, and with patch 1.16 just having cash registers that give you half a grand and free bounties, who knows how many games in a row you could just use a broken set-up for. Like am I the only one who enjoyed the struggle of prestiging and being forced to use trash weapons? Not only that, but the way the prestige stuff used to work means you'd probably run into less games with full long ammo and dolch combos. Idk it just feels like money isn't a problem at all anymore and you can just run whatever you wish back to back to back. Go broke? hit the prestige button.

if you don't prestige and don't pick high-cost loadouts from the get-go you get to accumulate enough money that wins or losses stop matter that much because in the end you keep getting a net profit usually, especially if you're the type of guy to pick up expensive guns from hunter corpses that is ofc if you don't prestige, and frankly I (and a most of people I play with) see no point in doing that, because what you loose (money, unlocks) usually isn't worth the sweat (throwing knife skin for 300 bb) in case this matters: prestige 21 (for that sweet 10% exp boost) and solid 5 star player and yes, I see long ammo a lot, and no, I don't get frustrated, as long as there are ways to restore chunks (which is usually the case during the events)

It's all in how you want to play and if you like stacks of money or playing conservative loadout costs that's totally a fine option! I usually come out of a match with something mote expensive either way myself.

The low stakes is really my problem with hunt. I really feel like the highs arent high enough to balance out the downtime. I felt like eveything was very easily atainable and so nothing really feels too special. To be fair, I am more of a tarkov player, so maybe hunt just doesnt kick me in the balls how I like

Nah you're right it's very low risk. Lose a hunter means really not that much anymore because you can just buy the loadout back and have an almost full trait bar after one game.

@@skyewasthelimit really just about anything that isn't a sniper rifle. Shotguns (any), Winfield Centennial all variants, especially shorty non-silenced (my beloved), I love Uppermat too as well as all other weapons from its family. Pistols, anything that fires fast and has low recoil (New army, officer). Bat or katana if I run a regular Winfield. It is just that it is easy to get most kills, but really difficult to be the last one standing, especially in the higher 5 stars. I honestly feel like getting kills should have more monetary impact. As I mentioned, the previous update I had Dolches spewing out from every orifice and ran a lot of Nitro for the memes, but now I barely get enough to sustain a middle of the road loadout consistently.

I find hunt way to easy to make money on, BB are in the drain but I think I am on 120k Hunt dollars and my friend is on 200 something K with a 3rd friend who is newer starting to play with us and he is on 60k I think. Don't always bring the pirciey guns but sometimes I do, I actually hate the dolch as it eats ammo so I never bring it. I also went to 0 dollars in 2022 I think after I bought a mountain of Autos, Dolchs' and other junk as we were getting bored and talking about quitting hunt. If you really want to make money though, then rags to riches is the way to play (Although ruined a bit with no more free hunters) Go in with nothing but a health kit and melee and you make money nearly every game.

Honestly, the economy isn’t great, but otherwise acceptable. I hope to see it get some attention, but nothing is unbeatable since the avto got it’s much deserved nerf.

The mmr system is a joke while I get it is a generalization it isn’t an exact allocation of data for skill… the issues is that it doesn’t take into factor for is Smurf accounts, and the calculations of mmr as it’s based only on kills and deaths when it should be more direct and varied then jsut as such

well i'm a returning player and these economy changes don't help me at all. I'm not gonna mention cheap bounties, yeah you will say go play free hunters. Okay but i paid like 50$ for dlc hunters and stuff, and i can't play them because i'm broke all the time. I can't even retire my hunters at lvl 25. All of this is too harsh to casual players. Well, going back to tarkov i guess, at least i can make money in the game even if i loose. In hunt making money is too difficult and not rewarding at all. Wtf crytek i want to play some meta shit sometimes.

I understand they are focusing the nerfs to lower high lvl players money but what they did is to destroy the fun for casual players like myself. I'm talking from a perspective of a 50-60 hours player. Can't progress.

The economy of Hunt will forever be broken and impossible to balance in any fair way for anyone. I have hunt dollars well into the 6 figures and can take whatever I want at any time, I've kept myself at prestige 5 for the last like 4 years because in my honest opinion the prestige system just absolutely sucks... Making guns expensive is always a bad idea since it really would only make it far easier for players like me who have way too much money to be able to just do anything, whereas the freshly prestiged or just genuinely struggling players now cannot afford these "best weapons". With the way the MMR system works as well as just player-skill being somewhat dependant on location in the world, it again makes this impossible to fairly balance. Over my years of playing I have noticed that depending on what location you're from, your MMR can mean something different, I've found that like the average maybe 5* US player is like maybe a 3* OCE player (Where I play). It always feels so damn weird when I watch a content creator from another region and just see how vastly different people seem to play. A system that lots of people have probably considered is a Tarkov styled wipe, which again just wouldn't work for the ecomony. I think what the game really needs is some upgrades to systems we already have as well as some new additions: -Better cheat detection from anti-cheat (I believe they employed a bunch of new people late last year for something like this) as well as the removal of player's being able to use a "config" (If you know you know) -Rebalance to MMR strength as well as hiding the MMR so people aren't so pressed about their silly little "rank" -Some form of 2d replay system: >Replace the "kill view" with maybe some sort of very short few seconds through the other player's eyes when they killed you- This would make it far easier to decipher whether a player is cheating as opposed to if they just got a lucky wallbang. >Give us a proper "demo"/"codcaster" sort of post-match videoeditor type program. Something where you can after any game go into a menu and select a match that you've played, load into and look through any player's eyes, freecam around, scrub the timeline and even capture small segments. This would give players so much more power with detecting if someone is cheating- not every cheater is a blatant aimlock esp user who just kills everyone in broad daylight for all to see. All these things will take a lot of time to implement but I really believe that these are the things that should be on the upmost importance to the Hunt team at Crytek. (Big rant, yes. Slightly off-topic, yes)

Which annoyingly those players can freely just jump on over to other servers to both cheat and abuse high ping trade window etc. If I had a dollar for every time I got killed by someone with a box name from China that somehow killed me when on my screen I was behind a wall... Man I would be rich as anything. Very very dumb how the server will even regard their ridiculously high ping for having any consistency. When I'm playing with 12 ping and my client and the server are both incredibly close with what they see, the person who has the 200ish ping should not have a lot of regard from the server. I also wholeheartedly believe that people should not be able to set their region, the game should have it all locked and queue you into a server of best ping under a defined limit. I always find people arguing that "I changed region because my region has nobody on right now, it's late" >Ok? Hop off then, time for bed buddy, like literally everybody else.

But would it really make a huge difference? The weapons are so much more balanced in hunt than in a realistic shooter like EFT where things just kind of are how they are. In hunt you can own with a pistol or shotgun by playing to the appropriate range and just being good. *I have to add the disclaimer that I am a forever 3 star so I might not have a clue about how the meta weapons work out in high tier lobbies*

God, this community really hates high MMR players. I have ~1500 hours in Hunt and I've been in 5-6 star lobbies since the first 30 hours due to how many FPS games I've played throughout 25-some years. I don't really see how you can put so much emphasis on weapons in a game where LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE WEAPON IS EFFECTIVE as long as you position correctly. My contraband inventory is always full of expensive weapons because I kill people with Officer Carbine HV. I'm not even denying that Dolch should have never gotten FMJ, this was a mistake by a company that clearly has no high MMR players doing QC for patches. But, the only weapons I would consider oppressive are not even in this video.

Sure all things are viable, but as said in the video, you are at a disadvantage going up against a team like this with a more budget loadout, and without a functional economy, this breaks the risk/reward balance of bringing cheaper loadouts vs more expensive ones.

If you hit your headshots how are you at a disadvantage unless you are taking bad fights? Yes, the economy is completely fucked, I'm not even denying that. But, the weapon balance isn't terrible outside of something like Avtomat/Nitro. Those guns shouldn't even be in the game. And now Dolch FMJ simply because you used to need to consider, "do I want penetration, or fire rate". Now you just buy Dolch FMJ and forget the Uppercut exists.? Edit: Honestly, I could do this entire video with Centennial Sniper and Officer pistol and you wouldn't even know the difference.

@@leroyjenkins9035 Its easier to hit headshots with a weapon that has good handling like the officer carbine (that's why those types of weapons are called "head clickers"). Because there are more factors in combat than just bullet velocity. But, yes I understand your point. Some weapons are a lot easier to be good with.

At this point I don't care about the price of the load out. I select what fits my mood that day. I understand that some players struggle with earning coins, though

It's funny i've been having my roughest prestige in a bit and I still seemingly have money! But i actually almost bottomed out. back when I never used to prestige it was definitely never a problem!

The question then is "do you prestiege". If you spent the windfall period that was the last event up until this even - you'd be sitting pretty on lots of money. In this event however, it's "scrape by" for the prestiegers.

I’m consistently using a sparks with Caldwell pistol because they are cheap. But dang i wish guns didn’t cost money. This game should really do away with the economy system and put that money towards other things like cosmetics or consumables/tools.

@@skyewasthelimit yeah the problem is higher tier players don’t have issues , but for me (mostly 5* sometimes 4*) i stay under 2k most of the time. Can’t really afford to run “expensive” loadouts which cuts out all the fun guns for me. Just make guns free , and you can only use the variants if you get kills wins using the base weapon. Like the old gun progression system but not based on xp but number of kills. If you die in a game with a certain weapon, it sends you back to the base model
