As a Duck hunter, him saying “us hunters aren’t always out killing, sometimes we love to just watch” that is sooo true. My favorite part about duck hunting isn’t killing the bird, even tho there are some birds I want to take that have beautiful plumage, it’s just watching them work, watching how cautious they are and how they land so quick after flying so fast. It’s beautiful, and I know some hunters that will go hunt and not shoot anything just because they wanted to go out and watch nature. Nature is so damn beautiful.

I had a friend back in high school explain that hunters don’t just purely kill. I would’ve believed him but the immense amount of animals was too much from floor to ceiling. They had normal chairs just a lot of rugs and displays. He also told me that they never waste the meat from a deer they kill that lasts them a year. I never thought that a hunters connection with an animal would be at a spiritual level.

I'm a hunter as well, I want to play this game since i saw an ad on it. What I love most about it is you can let bucks grow bigger judging by how many stars they have. Highest is a 5 star, if its a 4 star, you can let it get bigger until you want to hunt it. But if a 5 star animal is left alive for too long it will die of old age. And you can shoot the smaller bucks out of herd to increase the chances of the more bigger bucks with better genetics!

My father taught me to hunt at a very early age. It breaks my heart to hear people talk down to hunters and call us murderers when most of the time we are just trying to feed our families. I think the biggest misconception is that many people consider hunting and poaching the same thing. They are not. A hunter hunts for the meat, for food during tough times. People say things now like, you can just buy it from a store. But think of people like myself in areas like rural Vermont who depend on that meat. We can apply for food stamps and fuel assistance during the winter but that doesn't mean we'll get it. And what if we get snowed in for days or weeks? In my hometown sometimes it comes down to a successful hunt, or struggling to put food on the table all winter. I want every anti-hunting activist to think about that. But the sad truth is most of them won't. They'd rather see a human family die than a single animal. And then call us monsters because we killed innocent animals. I'm sorry but this controversy has been a huge part of my life for 30 years and it needs to be said.
@galerios1 Жыл бұрын
@@tetralesca Tell me you know nothing about living in the country without telling me you know nothing about living in the country... You win! Most hunting seasons take place around winter because crops don't grow in snow and farm animals tend to get sick more often in cold weather. Also, the meat I get from hunting is far more humane than what you get from a supermarket. I worked on a farm. Trust me, me shooting a deer is far better than a cow waiting in line to have it's throat cut. At least the deer didn't see it coming. Oh and I can't afford all that gear and equipment. Most of my guns and hunting equipment were handed down to me by family. I think you need to burn your soapbox before you continue to make a fool of yourself on it. Tracking an animal to feed your family is a lot harder than just waiting in line for the butcher to cut it for you.

My father also used to cut up deer for local hunters as a side job and I would help him for an allowance. We found 14 .22 slugs in one deer. Another we cut up had multiple entry and exit wounds because the person in question kept shooting when it didn't go down after the first shot, and one large buck that I will never forget. The hunter shot it with a .50 BMG... Most of the left and right flanks were jelly from the shockwave of such a large round, and most of the meat was peppered with bone fragments because the round tore both shoulders apart and turned them into shrapnel. I don't deny that bad hunters exist. Trust me. I've seen the evidence with my own eyes.

ive always wondered why people aim for the heart and lungs rather than for the head. i mean like a headshot is usually gonna make it impossible for the animal to run away, could stop their heart and lungs if you hit the brain stem and doesnt mess up any of the meat
@user-iw4xb3lh5r2 жыл бұрын
Your not taking a "headshot" you would be taking a brain shot. The brain on a deer isn't much bigger than your fist. When you zero a rifle, there is a 1 inch area above and 1 inch area below the trajectory of the bullet called the point blank. 1 inch below the brain is the jaw, you hit that, and that deer is going to suffer a nasty painful and long death. You miss it an inch high, and your sending a high velocity piece of lead somewhere you didn't intend it to go, and that's asking for trouble. Imagine the same scenario but your shooting at something that extends beyond that 1 inch up 1 inch down point blank. Either way up or down you hit something that will kill the animal humanely. And at the very least if you miss a vital organ you aren't going to smash it's jaw off and stop it from feeding, or have a stray bullet end up killing someone.
