At the end of this arc, i'll say that his character evolved to the point that really fits the meaning of his name. Earlier in the arc Gon was called "Light" due to his optimism and innocence, and that is the reason i love when Meruem's name is said to mean "Light that illuminates all" because it was my personal feeling that in this show there is nothing that compares his "Light ".

Not that it's relevant anymore but one important thing to note when Pitou said Gon was as strong as the king was that it was based on her current knowledge of Meruem's power. I don't believe the royal guards had an absolute understanding of the kings limits, and that was before pouf and youpi brought him back from deaths door stronger than before. So while Gon made himself immensely powerful to fight Pitou it's unlikely he would have actually been able to match the king at the point he is at now. Just my two cents anyways!

Unfortunately there’s such a misconception with the killua/Youpi fight in the community. Not tryna hate cuz the fight is sick asf, but killua did literally no damage to youpi in that fight.the only edge he had on him was speed and reaction time. Youpi was def feeling the pain but it wasn’t anything that could seriously hurt him or something he couldn’t handle, plus killua can only use it for a limited time so it’s not as if killua really is stronger than Youpi, he just one uped him in that moment due to surprise
