@@RTTV2011 Just so you guys now the original HxH manga came out in 1998 (Before Naruto) and was adapted in 1999-2001 including various OVA's. This version released in 2011 and finished in 2014. The 2 adaptations both contain the same story but the 2011 version has 3 more arcs then the 1999 version. The 2011 version is the only version you need to watch and is imo the greatest anime ever made (Big claim I know but the show just gets better and better). Also just so you know through the span of the 148 episodes there are 2 recap episodes (13 and 26), that you may want to skip. Other then that I hope you guys just enjoy the show and I look forward to seeing more HxH videos in the future!

Important background info to put things into perspective: the Hunter X Hunter MANGA, which this anime is based on, came out in 1998. The Naruto manga came out in 1999. There also was a pilot chapter of Naruto in 1997 but that was nothing like the 1999 version. HxH's 1998 manga influenced what Naruto then became in 1999. Naruto's Kishimoto was a big fan of HxH and took a lot of inspiration from it. HxH itself also took inspiration from things like Dragon Ball, JoJo's and Yu Yu Hakusho. YYH isn't a surprise, seeing how HxH's Togashi also wrote YYH. And the inspiration he drew from things like Dragon Ball are certain tropes he uses to subvert expectations with.

By the old lady saying it, she was implying time was passing as well as "excitement". 2) You are watching the second, 2011, adaptation of HxH. The first is referred to as "1999". You probably should include "(2011)" in your reaction titles. Overall, I prefer 2011, but characterization in 1999 is better IMO. Also, 2011 left out a very important part of chapter 1 of the manga, from when Gon was 9. This will be key motivation for Gon later in the series. I believe Madhouse left it out for pacing and tonal reasons. They wanted viewers to be fooled into thinking it is going to be just a happy-go-lucky shonen adventure. But I suggest you watch ep.1(1999) to see what the author wants you to know (or read ch.1 of the manga). The full 1999 series is on KZbin. Yall might not fw some of the stuff in this anime because it's strange japanese stuff, but you guys are pretty invested in anime at this point so you can probably handle it lol. I will say without spoiling anything that hxh has arguably the best power system of any show, comic, anything. It's extremely well thought out and infinitely versatile. Fyi, you typically don't say the Xes out loud, you'd just say " Hunter Hunter" or whatever the title is, in this case "Departure and Friends/ Test of Tests." The Xes are just written for swag I guess.
