He kept it hidden from everyone until the last moment when it was clear that it was the only way to participate in the game. They are still competing vs each other in the game.

And while Endeavor did horrible stuff (but just a heads-up, all of his kids were conceived with Rei's consent), he does have the redeeming quality of being aware how shitty he was and of trying to atone however he can. He's trying to make amends. And, well, I guess he didn't tell a death row convict to give everything he has against his son.

@@kc_h7h You don't read properly. I'll repeat it one more time for you. Generally speaking, Dads of side characters aren't included unless they themselves are the main character. Also, Endeavor didn't redeem himself, he just has qualities that redeem him to a certain extent as a character. Endeavor is about atoning, not about redeeming. He doesn't look for forgiveness. And obviously there's no debating that he did what he did. But there's also no debating that there's more to him and that he did (in the very beginning before everything happaned) and now does again act somewhat fatherly. His story isn't that cliché either. Arguably the least cliché big storyline in BNHA.

4:52 I was sure this already came up but turns out this is one of the details from the manga that were left out of the anime. It's when Gon and Killua talk with Goreinu about who to recruit, which took much longer in the manga. He explained that the light next to the name of the people that they met in the game is off when they either leave the game or die. 5:01 Close, they call it Dodgeball in the anime because that's what people know but the rules are from a German variation of Prisonball (there is a Wikipedia article on it) called Völkerball (Nationball).
